Has its uses but maybe different to the ones you are thinking. It makes a great ladder. Suddenly you can go crazy high into inaccessible places and attach sensors or cameras. It will never be used actively in an armed capacity but It would also be good in an invasion as suddenly he can go up inaccessible defences and attach rope ladders. Too loud though at the moment.

an exoskeleton might not be needed. the problem is that you need to support yourself with your arms, but if there is a "rod" from the backpack to the hands, the arms wont need to support anything. even more, then you could get your hands free and there could be a balance system with your body that moved you forward, instead of the hands doing this.

i cant imagine the SAS sneaking on to some beach with 5 jet engines at 160db somehow. Fun idea. Not so useful. Like the 30 second rocket pack that appeared in James Bond in the 1960s.
