The gravity law of migration was not invented by Reilley. Reilley just applied the law of retail gravitation. For anyone that needs to quote properly: It was "John Q. Stewart who established the ‘social physics’ school in 1950. However, the gravity‐like properties of internal migration flows had already been confirmed much earlier by Ravenstein 1885, 1889. Stewart, Q.J. (1950) The development of social physics. American Journal of Physics 18: 239‐253 Ravenstein, E.G. (1885, 1889) The laws of migration, Part 1 and Part 2. Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, 48(2): 167‐235 and 52(2): 241‐305.
