I'd say the fact they only gave the vibe of vogue and did not full dip into it, in my opinion, is super respectful to the culture and everything. She’s shown that in her projects, working with prominent dancers from the biggest kiki house in the South Korean ballroom scene. Had queer dancers in high heels and makeup in an MV when that wasn’t something super common in kpop during its time of release, especially being a soloist from a small company. So when ppl mention chungha in relation to voguing/waacking in the kpop scene it’s not surprising or to disregard. Like she deadass is one of the few artists in Kpop who has heavy ties to those genres. It’s amazing what lesserafim has done here, even more representation of ballroom in kpop!! With KPOP, I feel like they choose an aesthetic just for the because and not to honor its value like when T-ARA dressed like Native Americans and Cherry Bullet used Aloha 'oe (a song about losing the Hawaiian kingdom, I believe) as a base for one of their songs. For this, I love that the creative and visual directors included the members of Juicy Couture and made the members an additional creative director for filming to ensure the girls understood what they were dealing with, and then fully proceed to give Juicy Couture members at least 2 solo filming scenes.

OMG, you really worded this in a way I highly agree with! As a long-time K-pop fan, I and many others I believe have come to notice and see that when K-pop groups need a new "aesthetic" or "theme" they often take from other cultures without really doing the necessary research and without giving credit where credit is due. However, in this instance, Le Sserafim has ticked every box on what actually needs to be done to do something different when it comes from something with a heavy cultural history and background.

No need to compare groups. So I should start by saying LSF is obviously top tier when it comes to dancing. However, whenever other groups do dance challenges, you can see that most current idols are perfectly capable of doing other styles pretty well. If they don't in their own output, it's because their group concept limits the styles they might explore. LSF is basically defined by not really having a distinct style and being very different from song to song. That gives them a lot of breadth in performance, but I don't think they're better than others for it.

I’d love to see you react to other attempts to feature vogue in kpop, namely chungha and solar who both worked with mother love ran from house of love. chungha who trained as a waacker has amazing adaptability to vogue fem which she showcased in stay tonight and she is so welcomed in the skr ballroom community (having once judged for face at a house of love kiki ball) while solar who despite not being trained in a similar style of dance originally, worked with house of love to perform a vogue choreo that features not just vogue fem but also old way (i forget if she had new way-esque choreo sequences that she also performed but iirc they did feature some new way voguers in the video), and she also featured the entire house of love in the mv and just displayed a huge passion to understand and credit the community. though i have some qualms about her teaching the choreography to others since she is not polished enough in her vogue fem to teach, her sincerity and passion for getting to know ballroom is fairly rare still and as such appreciated. i’d love to know your thoughts on the way the two artists approached their goal of featuring vogue in their craft and also what could’ve been done better. ❤

Multiple people in the comments have mentioned him, however, I believe someone in the k-pop sphere that could be of interest to you is Sung Hanbin of zerobaseone. He is a professional dancer and choreographer who specilises in tutting and waacking. Though he isn't a voguer, he does have multiple videos of him voguing pre-debut which I believe you would enjoy. While he doesn't get to show this side of his dance speciality a lot, a performance he did recently showed more of his waacking and tutting; he performed on 'Studio chooms' artist of the month and part of the dance was choreographed by Spella, a famous Korean tutter and one of his dance teachers! The link to that performance if you ever decide you are interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e5CVl2iIgdiHldE
