GTR Season 3 | TOP 32 - Race 1 - Group 3

Season 3 is officially underway. Who has the speed and technical skill to master the Shavano Mountain Rallycross course??? Today we begin with race 1 of 8 of the Top 32. The top two will advance to the sweet 16.

Superb! 8 races instead of 4 and plenty of overtakes, spins and upsets! Alex's Escort might have had a chance if he didn't keep spinning in nearly every race. It looks like it's going to be a great tournament!

First off, thanks for the mid-week upload! Second, thanks for the eight lap format! _More Rallycross_ !! Excellent replay coverage with announcing that keeps up very well with the action; I know that was a concern while developing this ambitious course. Speaking of the course itself, I wanted to ask about your plans for what you will use to cover the drywall shim lattice eventually?

It will be the same as my original track, plaster cloth (basically paper mache). I have a bunch of rolls that I'll lay, add some sculp-a-mold, and paint.

Since he knew by then he wasn't moving on, Alex actually went onto his roof on purpose just to see how far the Escort could slide. Remember, on the old GTR track roof slides sometimes made the difference between points and no points. At B.A.K.E. Racing, we're innovators! 😎

I noticed that cars coming from the joker lane are spinning too much when they arrive at the airport road. Maybe you could extend the guardrail just a little into the track transition, so the cars maintain a straight course, with less collisions and spins on that section, what do you think?

The speed of the train is a great thought. The problem is I've got it floored, but the live action film is 50% real speed. To make the train go any faster might cause it to tip off the track. I should have 2 trains!!! Now you've got my gears turning. Haha!

Reminds me of why that movie was titled "The Madness of King George" instead of "King George IV," because viewers in the US would ask where parts I through III were in the video stores.
