That's three experienced gamers that did videos, each getting crushed at the easiest difficulty level. If that's not a clear warning sign I don't know what is. Caveat: all three chose Archer, no idea why. 11:40 propose Anya II. 12:33 that little sheet is the sole reason I backed the ks. Which had an atrocious rulebook v 1.0, it got better around 1.5, and the archer has been revamped. I later got FoS, which has a different grind sheet. 17:35 I had lots of problems with the rulebook. Were you flipping through v1.5? 19:44 thank god the cubes are not plastic. I also never play sleeved, and I love the tactile feel. I have one plastic card game and I hate the shuffling. 22:11 you should know by now, there are 2 of each of the 32 types. FoS same format as ODD.

I love this game's design and look and playing through the dungeons, all three levels. The BOSS fights though, brutal and frankly I find it ridiculous. By this I mean, FUN game and then BAM you lose. A mixture of happy with the game and super disappointed because of the Boss Fight requiring a ridiculous amount of power and dice that you don't have even on the easiest level.

Yes, without playing the campaign mode and building your character up it seems nigh impossible to defeat some bosses, but I am a fan of multiple plays and building my characters up :-)

Why does my 1O Archer has this next to Heroic Feat (Eagle Eye ) : Spend 2 time to roll two black dice of 4 time to roll 3 black dice. BEFORE checking any other effects, discard one of the Dice rolled. It is this "BEFORE" which I cannot understand.Please help.Thank you.Kind regards.
@Lavoye6 жыл бұрын
Well, it basically means that you roll the 2 dice and discard one right away. You don't get to spend that die on a skill to reroll anything before discarding. You have to do it right after rolling and not spend it anywhere.

ahhh i like this one a lot but i missed the KS on the expansion. wish you'd mentioned it in the first vid.. i'd have jumped all over it.

2:00 Why did you not roll your blue and yellow dice? - You could of used those to cover the boxes.
@GrayBoardGamer6 жыл бұрын
It has been awhile since I played, what powers could I have used to re-roll those dice?
@ChaoticLegion016 жыл бұрын
No, not re-roll, just roll as normal... You only rolled your Agility, not your Attack or magic, but you had both to use at the start of your turn. (3 blue, 3 yellow)
@khzhak6 жыл бұрын
It was an Agility roll. He only had Agility to roll. However, he didn't use the Agility ability to turn one of them into a 6. He wouldn't have taken that two damage, and would've had one hitpoint left after the first round against the Yeti. Was I the only one that caught that? I don't even own the game yet.
@BrooksBoyd4265 жыл бұрын
@@khzhak I had that thought too! But, "the Agility ability to turn one of them into a 6" is the "Dexterity" ability, and in the lower-right of that ability's box, it only has a combat icon; it can only be used during Combat encounters, so cannot be used against the Bear Traps, which is a Peril, unfortunately.

not a fan of the campaign rules at all. having to play the first few games knowing one will almost certainly lose only to get a fair chance in later games is not very intriguing for me. That kind of grinding really puts me off. Thus I house-rule that I always begin with a free "basic skill" (it adds a bit of flavour too, letting me create a different character each time, albeit the effect is very limited, it is still something). plus, I always add a single black heroic die each time I level up. I think these two benefits roughly makes up for the dull grinding of getting the various campaign skills. Skills that are virtually needed to have a fighting chance at the tougher dungeons of two or three stars. it lets me play at "fair" change of success from the get go.
@GrayBoardGamer7 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the response and explanation of your house rules. I am a proponent of "house ruling" any aspect of a game that makes it a better experience for the player, games are about the experience and story they tell and not strict adherence to every single rule (unless that's your thing). I will give your house rules a go too in my future sessions.
@Hybban7 жыл бұрын
I like your house rules. They make sense. And if you consider the various combinations of character parties (solo and 2P) against all the bosses with all the different starting bonus skills, I think you have enough of games for the value of this little box. No real need to grind hours of play :)
@MsNosis7 жыл бұрын
thanks for the kind replies! yes, I too think it makes "sense" that each level up grants a new heroic die. just never understood why that third level in the original rules didnt give an extra die. plus, really fond of the "character creation step" I get with the free basic skill added on from start. Just sitting there a few minutes in the beginning, pondering about what skill to use this time, and how from one game to the other, my Mage or Rogue or whatever is just that tad bit different from last time, it is really worth it!

Having played Shadowrun Crossfire where it's a given that you're going to lose a few games before you get enough XP to level up, this doesn't bother me so much. Reason being is I played my first games using it to learn the game. But I agree with Gray that it's all about what makes it enjoyable for you. With Shadowrun Crossfire there were a LOT of people who started their character out with an ability to avoid that tiring grind at the beginning. Doesn't throw off any balance to the game AT ALL!

To me losing a game is not a big deal! Yes winning is nice but, Its just a game.
