Could you possibly do a video on preparing water to drink from different sources and different methods?

There are two things I’d like to point out. First, why wouldn’t you consider getting the same size Grayl Ti? Second, I went overnight camping with my family and a friend’s family. We used the Geopress, while they used the Sawyer. I found that I could fill everyone’s water faster and easier with the Geopress than they could with the Sawyer. Additionally, you never mentioned its dual function as a pot eliminator, which is another advantage of the Grayl Ti.

i have several , love them. Was using a sawyer with platypus carbon filter. grayl is faster for me and filters more.. i just carry an extra filter for the grayl as needed. i also travel always in random city hotel.. I use the grayl to make sure the sink water is safe... Sure most citys should be , but are they really

I keep the plastic Geopress in the car. I heard the cartridges can freeze 3 times and be ok. But I dry the filter out under a fan for a few days after use. Hopefully they are not affected by cold weather when the filter is completely dry

I have the ultra press on my chest rig like you do and a geo press in my get home bag along with a Sawyer as backup. In the PNW so water is readily available.

Finally someone honest about these products. I have the larger black one depicted. Ive found no reason to get titanium. The two use cases it's advertised for are opposed.

They're great for leisurely using them for camping. I've watched many of my soldiers mess theirs up in desert and jungle environments. I don't like their weight for what I can get out of a canteen or smart water bottle and filter. That said, they're alright for supplementary usage within a system.

I got the grayl ultrapress because it fits in my car’s cup holder and I use it to filter during the day. It”s my get home option because I have it with me. Two or three day max

I would be very interested on your experienced evaluation on my Grayl theory/setup. I keep a sawyer squeeze in my BOB as a dedicated PRE FILTER for the Grayl. Theory being, if i can prefilter most of the junk with the Sawyer first, the Grayl filter lifespan could possibly be extended by double or triple. But thats an untested theory....... My context being a single kit bag that can give me a drink on the go, or could if necessary provide purified water for my family of 4 for a month. (Think, current situation in appalachia)

I have the ultra press, not the TI. And if you could pick one of those two. Wich one would you take?

They came out with a 24 oz titanium version recently.

How much is that one? 💰😂

Yeah, I saw that several months back. I just couldn't justify it.

Maybe i missed it but did the bigger one fit in your handwarmer?

AT hikers don't need the Grayl because they're not hiking through cities with polluted water. Could you make a video comparing Grayl to the Seychelle Advance?
@marcusbritt6349Ай бұрын
This is not correct. Water purity is definitely a concern on the AT.
@straykitten4998Ай бұрын
@@marcusbritt6349 I agree, but I would feel better about using a Sawyer mini on the AT than like drinking untreated river water in the city.

Here in Florida I'm told that the tannins in the water will plug a Grayl filter in just a short time. Is that true?

Is it the same with the double watch ur wearing?

You get a dent in the titanium and your seal is gone and the filter is useless. I have never had a metal container more than a month without putting a dent in it.

I still don't know when/if the filter is no good so I'm out. I got sooo sick off water once, I'm never messing again.
@Pipehawk_PatriotАй бұрын
They tell you when it takes longer to press it, but I'm with you
@pauljenkins6877Ай бұрын
The filter does not become “no good” in the sense that it allows pathogens to pass through. The filter will clog, and it will become harder and harder to push the water through.
