When I was in grade 2, a fellow classmate menarched at our age of 7 years old (we were 5 years old when we entered grade 1). I'm from Africa. People mature fast. So it is highly likely that Aisha (RA) had already menarched when Prophet Muhammad (SAW) married her. Even if she did not, it is not a problem because her marriage was not consummated at that age. Also, consider that many women reach their late teens before they menarche. My fiancée/girlfriend was 18 when she menarched. In the time of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), girls were married long before the age of 18, so Surah 65:4 is valid. Coming to the second point of SheikhLogic is that sex after marriage with your wife who has not menarched is "desire of the flesh" of "lustful men". Buddy, this is _after marriage_ , and that is the whole point of *marriage* ! A demonic religion would not ask you to marry with God's name pronounced during the marriage! Suppose I had married my girlfriend when she was 18 (before she menarched). Would I be a "lustful man" as well? The truth is all men are lustful, and it is only through God's love and mercy, that we are able to curb/control this via marriage. If Prophet Muhammad (SAW) had sex outside/before marriage, then I would agree with you, but this was not the case, so it seems you completely miss the point of marriage! In Islam, unlike Christianity, there is *no sin for you to have sex with your wife. In fact, it is blessing, and you get rewards and blessings from ALLAH for comforting and pleasing each other in the permitted way. * And by the way, women have their own lusts/crushes too. So just because a woman has not menarched does not mean she has no desire to have sex. The Hadith(s) clearly states that any girl has to be "of sound decision-making age" to get married. In other words, she has to agree to get married while understanding what is marriage and what it involves. With all the things that the Prophet (SAW) has done, do you really think that he would marry someone without her personal consent, after marrying his first wife Khadija who was 15 years older than him? In those days, you were lucky and considered an elder if you lived till the age of 45. Most people lived only till about 35. Very few lived beyond 50 or 60. Even now, in South America, the age of marriage in some places is 12 years for girls with parental consent, and the Prophet's marriage was definitely with Aisha's father's consent. Today, kids go to grade 1 at the age of 5 or 6. There was no such school 1400 years ago. You learnt to survive/live as soon as you learnt to walk and talk usually by the age of 2. Arranged marriages were prevalent. It is possible there is some miscalculation of Aisha's age of marriage to Rasulullah (SAW) and that she was older at the time of marriage, but even if this miscalculation is not so, the times 1400 years ago were very different than today. People matured much faster, otherwise they did not survive. People married much earlier because they didn't have the luxury of time. Aisha (RA) was already engaged to another man but he was a non-muslim, and his family didn't want her to convert him to become a muslim. Also consider the fact that her father Abu Bakr (RA) wanted his daughter Aisha to marry the Prophet (SAW). Why? There could be many reasons (writing now from a father's perspective): 1) to protect her: there was nobody better than Rasulullah (SAW) to protect a muslim at that dangerous time when baby girls used to be murdered and buried; (2) to make sure she gets the best knowledge/education of Islam (since he was already a muslim); (3) to make sure she was not offered in marriage to somebody else who would love her less, as the Prophet (SAW), being an old man, would be able to take care of her and love her better than a younger man. ALLAH(SWT) knows best.
