The definition of Muslim is submitting your will to the one true God(Allah) and shirk is a unforgivable sin which is associating partners with him whether you are worshipping the idols humans or your worldly desires !!! If you want to become Muslim you have to believe in the Oneness of God without association of anyone or anything and believing in his Prophets from Adam to Mohammad ❤May Allah guide us ol ❤

Being humans we can do sins but decleration of God is One is Must. So improvement is contineous struggle but never challenge God in His Oneness.

to be a Muslim is to be the best version of your self. Quran 90:11- 18 "If only they had attempted the challenging path ˹of goodness instead˺! 11 And what will make you realize what ˹attempting˺ the challenging path is? 12 It is to free a slave, 13 or to give food in times of famine 14 to an orphaned relative 15 or to a poor person in distress, 16 and-above all-to be one of those who have faith and urge each other to perseverance and urge each other to compassion. 17 These are the people of the right.18" That what means to be a Muslim.

Allah swt. completed his religion and advises mankind to embrace it completely. Therefore Islam for the Muslim is to adopt the religion as your way of daily existence. It takes a "good mentor" to learn how to do that..or you can be autodidactic because you must not wait around for the opportunity. Supplicate to God the Almighty , persevere and inshaAllah you will be guided. It is a way of life.

Allah is one and Mohammed is the final messenger no other prophete will be sent after him, to believe in all of the revelation that were sent to prophets that preceded him, and to believe in angels. Fear Allah in everything that you do by following what is allowed in his way and staying away from what he told us not to do. Be humble, be fair, kind, truthful, and make sure that every word and action is done to attain Allah's pleasure so that you may win in this life and in the hereafter. Finally, to be moderate in religion not extreme, and that humans and jinn will be judged by Allah on the day of judgment.

I think ur friend was just being nice when he said ur summary was correct and that shows what a good muslim he really is 😅 But just for the sake of sharing knowledge that summary is kind of odd. Islam is not a fear based religion. Allah is all merciful. its repeated again and again on almost every page of the book. So the first thing u take out of Quran being fear is i think ur christian background sneaking in.. In the Bible God is described as a scary and angry and jealous God with so much vengence and wrath. But Allah tells in the quran that u must be a muslim and obey his rules because theyre for ur own good and youre the only one who can destroy your faith and happily ever after and pay the consequences of ur deeds after ure free from this body. Its one hubdred percent just. Allah doesnt want you to fear him he wants you to do right by him and yourself. Because he created you he knows whats best for u. And if u fail to obey his rules and ask for forgiveness sincerely he FORGIVES U immediately no matter how many times u sinned and came back to repent in this life. The key point is to be sincere in your heart because u cant trick god. Isnt it perfect justice? imagine a friend doing you wrong, and u are to make him pay for it. Would u still punish him if you can tell hes already sorry about it and is suffering with regret. No. So its the same thing. Allah wants you to have a pure heart detached from worldly things (not being slave to worldly things). And he wants you to purify ur heart thru pray and repentance if u were to stain it in a way. So Allah is merciful and worshipping him means understanding him and loving him so much that u trust that he knows whats best for u and hes the ultimate provider. Trust him and let go of other things. This is the heart of being a muslim.
