After the 06 season and with all the younger faster kids at that time in Pedrosa, Stoner and Lorenzo coming into the motogp class, you saw a different Rossi, when he fought Gibernau and Biaggi he always had the measure and almost toyed with them, but he could not do that with the new riders, so when you see him fighting Lorenzo and stoner like he did in Laguna and catalunya he had to be at 100% all the time

Those race starts and lap time consistency from jorge lorenzo was unique. Though he wasn't always the best in 1 vs 1 battles, but if you saw lorenzo in P1 by half a second or more by lap 2 or 3, you could count on it 9 times out of 10 that you can only salvage P2 or P3 now.

I respect lorenzo for entering MotoGP and staking his claim rather than be in shadow of an already 7 time world champion teammate back then. Established riders such as colin edwards on the same machine couldn't match rossi, and a young, undaunted lorenzo arrived and made a name for himself. Undoubtedly, two of the greatest legends of the sport. Lorenzo beat valentino for the championship on the same bike. And he did it twice.

Mugello 2016 was the saddest race where Rossi was the favorite to win but the fatal engine blow up forced him to resign from the race. Also, unfortunately there was no straight shootout between Rossi & Lorenzo in 2015 : the 2 title contenders. That's one of my biggest regrets, I always wanted to see Rossi VS Lorenzo in 2015 in straight fight for victory. But thankfully lorenzo honestly admitted that Marquez didn't want Rossi to win his 10th title in 2015 after Assen. I will never ever forget 2015 in my life.

Jorge even went to vale's ranch for a 100 km motocross race along with many current MotoGP-Moto2-Moto3-WSBK and VR46 Academy riders, he was invited by rossi himself. It's actually nice to see being a lorenzo fan and respecting rossi's achievements that they both have made their peace and carry immense respect for each other.

Anyone who believed VR's recent moan about Marc Marquez in 2015 and 'never been seen before someone raced to make someone lose' need to look at Rossi himself 4:04 on wards at Motegi against his Team Mate, Fellow Fiat, Fellow Yamaha rider in World Championship contention, hitting Lorenzo more than once. Even one commentator said he reminded him of Rossi's Sete dive bomb form Jerez.

@@yusufhahn_id Lorenzo was in contention for the World Title. He did win in this (2010) year. Motegi was late in the Calendar and a DNF for JL would have lost him the Title in all probability. An injury keeping him from the next races..pretty much. VR was running into JL. VR was happy to race JL to make him lose the World Title. When Rossi recently moaned about MM wanting to make him 'lose' - he was talking about the exact same thing - losing the World Championship. Even worse they both raced for Yamaha and Fiat. Compare that to Jack Miller who was personally compelled to try and help Pecco's World Champion chances alive this year. Rossi cannot moan about MM and him losing the WC in 2015. LOL In fact his off track moaning accusations were the reason it all backfired on him in 2015.
