this F-104ASAM had also a J-79 engine in it but this model was the most modern version ever developed by a airforce . the M means a mid life update fore this nice fighter . this plane was used as a intercepter fore enemy planes in the air . The maxiumum speed was 2400 kilometers a hour so a very fast figther plane .

Thanks for posting. I'm guessing that the 1,2,3 fingers are a count of thousands of RPM until the engine gets to self sustaining speed and they can disconnect the huffer ?

IIRC, 1 finger is when you hit whatever the fuel introduction point is on your N1 meter (Percent turbine power), 2 is positive ignition, and 3 is TOT Dropping to safe range and oil pressure in the green

i had the luck that my friend knows the squadron cammander at the base otherwise we had got problems there . I had permission to film there fore 3 days at the base so i did that there .

the reason fore this that this engine is a other one then the starfighters they used in the past . Only the TF-104GM are the ones with the good sound see my other movies from Grosseto year 2003 .

Se usavi il 104 per quello per cui non era stato progettato si... infatti gli utilizzatori col minor tasso di incidenti su questo modello furono quelli che lo usarono per l'intercettazione.
