Wonderful video! Was great going through the questions with you, pausing to answer them myself first, then listening to what you had to say. However, for Question 19 I think the inequality should be 40,410

Learning - X Thanks for the solutions. Hope to see the other solutions of other mock tests soon. One thing I wanted to ask is that how similar is the difficulty level of the actual test as compared to the mock tests?

Very similar. One or two questions might be on a difficult side.

In question 7, there is no mention of the list in the numbers being integers. So x and x^2 can be decimal values. Suppose x=0.5 then x^2 will be 0.25. Here both these numbers come out to be less than 1 and root 2. So the andwer should be D right. Am I making a mistake somewhere?
@thinkandlearn72586 жыл бұрын
Very well thought. But here is the catch. The Range of the 4 numbers given is 4. If you choose x less than 1, the range can never be 4. I appreciate your thinking, exactly this is required to be able to score 170. You are on a right track, Best of luck!!

I’m confused with the last question. I’m not sure where you’re getting 3/2 for 50% increase? Thank you
@suhrudgodbole52435 жыл бұрын
Megan Schwarzinger So in terms of decimals, a 50% increase is 1.5. So 3/2 here is 50% increase. 10% increase is 1.1, etc. 50% decrease is 0.5. Let me give you an example. Suppose you have $100. If there is 50% decrease in your money, you are left with $50 which is as good as 0.5 * 100. Similarly, if there is a 50% increase in your money, it will be as good as 1.5 * 100. Hope this clears your doubt.

Thank you very much for your explanation! I knew exactly how to solve the powerprep tests even though I did not score the maximum, but when I went to the real exam, i scored only Q159. I only studied for a month using magoosh and did the 2 ETS powerprep tests + the free Manhattan test. I noticed in the exam I knew most of the problems but had little time to solve them, therefore made me make silly mistakes. Do you have a better method to solve fast? or a course I can buy to help me with speed? as in how to recognize what they are actually asking me immediately, this would help immensely! Thank you again, among all youtubers, I like your explanation the most :)

Thank you so much for appreciating the work. I actually solved all the Quant questions twice on the GRE to be 100 percent sure that all my questions r correct. Follow the following strategy for time management: 1. While you r solving for the first time(Reading the ques for first time.) And if you think that a certain question is difficult and will take more than a minute, leave that. 2. Complete all easy ques (around 15 ques r easy) 3. Then solve the ques you left. 4. Revisit all ques again so that u find ques where u have committed silly mistakes. 5. Revisiting ques is a skill and u must be able to workout problems faster when revisiting.

Thank you for the reply! My problem is that how to decide early if its hard or not; for example a word problem with 3 lines question will take me at least 30sec to comprehend the Q let alone solve.. does that mean I should skip all word problems at first round? I think you should consider doing your next vids about test strategies/time management, they are more crucial than learning the content in my opinion. The content is high school math only; the execution is the secret sauce lol

I have a question about the last problem. Where does the 3/2 come from?
@thinkandlearn72585 жыл бұрын
Hey, nice question. Now lets take an example. Lets say your no is 100. now increase it by 50%. So it becomes 150 i.e it becomes 1.5 times of original. 3/2 is nothing but 1.5 in fraction form.

In your 2question according to unitary method sugar for 12 cookies is 3/2 so sugar for 1 cookies is=3/2*1/12 the we get 1/8 so for 30 cookies we need1/8*30 by equating this we get 3.75 and we know that 3.75is bigger than 2 so answer will be “a” which is quantity a is greater .So I think you are mistaken 😇
@zaidakhtar30934 жыл бұрын
2 dozens doesn't mean 12 cookies. It means 24 cookies
@harshmadnani16132 жыл бұрын
Youre slightly wrong mate... 2cups makes 32 cookies... So opt B Since 3/2= 1.5 cups -> for 24 cookies (2 dozen) Now you can see that you can get an answer for 0.5 cups just by diving both sides by 3 i.e 0.5 cups -> for 8 cookies... Now add that 8 cookies to actual equation... 2cups -> for 32 cookies... I.e OPTION B is right
