Astute observations. My final tip: some of you are night owl academics like me and the exam in your country may happen at 9 AM when you would be normally be asleep. If this is true then this is suicidal for your grades. Do the practice of 10 mock tests mentioned here exactly when the test in region might be happening in the day if possible. If you have jobs, at the very least make sure you are fully natural for months to be awake and active at that time of day. Good luck.

Practise, practise, practise, I couldn't agree more! All the tips and strategies that I learnt in my first attempt were useless (sometimes even detrimental, instead of using a strategy, I thought of that strategy during the test, which wasted time 😤). On the second attempt, where I finally got a 330+, it all boiled down to an efficient and well conducted practise.

Thank you for this video. And congratulations on your high score. It is a fact that standardized tests like the SAT and GRE correlate with tests designed to measure IQ. So then you have excellent cognitive abilities. I'm sure your preparation made a difference, but it's not likely your prep changed your test score substantially. I found the GRE to be absolutely grueling when I took some 30+ years ago. My primary concern was how insomnia and anxiety might affect my score. I do not remember my score, but it was enough to meet my entrance requirements for graduate school.

I have my GRE coming up this Friday and... unfortunately the past 4-5 months my studying has been inconsistent and I haven't retained a lot due to a full time job so I've pushed the date back once already yet here I am again feeling unprepared:( Just hearing you say how it's really good to take many practice questions and tests I barely even grazed them due to being so worried about how to even solve or remember certain types of questions. With everything you've said, I feel like I need to postpone my scheduled date I'm so conflicted since I've already changed the date once. Would love to hear your insight on pushing back test dates. Whether I need to just suck it up and take it or be willing to suck up more money if I dont do as well as I need to. I know it's a pretty subjective situation and maybe theres nothing you can say.

Hi, i am appearing for GRE in the first week of August 2019, and I am facing tremendous problem in Verbal and AWA section, my diagnostic scores in verbal are below 140, and I seriously want to improve it. Please help.

Best start would be to read fifty or more reading comprehension passages from the Official Guide and elsewhere. This will get you very practiced at reading quicker and answering passages. Also, look up every word you don't know. You should pick up hundreds of new words. Try doing 10 more practice tests before the real thing, two or three per week. Document every mistake, you will improve.

@@TheTestedTutor Thanks alot for your advice and I highly appreciate your prompt response. The ETS officials have very less questions for practice, could you recommend me something along with the ETS ? And how to proceed for the AWA section, as it's been ages since I have written any essay or article.

@@mackk2974 The Manhattan 5lb book has plenty of practice, see if you can finish that before end of July - 50 pages per day, or 25/day for just Verbal. For AWA, you MUST leave 6 minutes after you have typed to reread over and correct mistakes, typos etc. So many students rush to the end and do not proofread - clean, correct text will secure a much higher grade than answers that are rushed and full of errors.

@@TheTestedTutor Thanks again Phillip. I will try my level best to complete the Manhattan 5lb and ETS before the end of July. Also, if you don't mind, is there any other way of communicating with you, only if you are comfortable so that I can keep you posted about the updates and if sometime I need your help or so ? Only if you are comfortable. Thanks alot Phillip ☺️☺️
