haha I had a good laugh! Thanks, handsome Chris. 1. extant (adj): usually related to documents, meaning still in existence. Put an "i" between the "ex" and "tant" and voila. ~ There are only two extant copies of her memoir. 2. verisimilitude (n): very-similar-to real life. Already made an example in another video. 3. cupidity (n): the burning desire to have more money or possessions. Imagine a baby cupid swooping down, then proceeding to steal a couple's money and grinning wickedly. ~ Other allegations against him were motivated by cupidity. 4. slipshod (adj): characterized by lack of care, thought or effort; sloppy. ~ The work my peers did was slapdash, as grammatical errors were everywhere. I was so demotivated by their slipshod work that I decided to give them a warning about the group score distribution. 5. flounder (v): Flounder is actually a fish. To flounder is to wobble around like a fish out of water. - to struggle helplessly or clumsily in water or mud. ~ He saw a kid floundering about in the water. - to struggle to know what to say or do. ~ His abrupt interruption leaves her flounder in her speech. - be in serious difficulty. ~ Many small businesses started to flounder as the COVID-19 pandemic got worse. 6. discrete (adj): individually separate and distinct. ~ Your trash should be put in bins of discrete categories.
