" The door wouldn't of knocked him out " Hell yeah it would😳 The doors from the 50' s probably weighted a ton. Heck my neighbor's U-Haul truck ran into my 1990' s Bonneville & my car 🚗 wasn't damaged but the Uhaul fender was dented . Old cars were made out of heavy metal 😄

Olivia Newton-John was only in a handful of movies, and Grease is by far the one most associated with her. She was first and foremost an amazing and beloved singer, with four Grammy Awards and record sales of more than 100 million albums. She had 15 top-10 singles, and 14 of her albums have been certified as gold or platinum. To this day, the Grease soundtrack remains one of the world’s best-selling albums (and fifth best-selling movie soundtrack of all time). She fought breast cancer three times, the last of which took her life last year.

Kinicki got knocked out by the door of car made in an age where those doors were super heavy steel, not fiberglass. It would most certainly knock him out. John and his family were pretty devastated by her passing. They remained friends all that time. ONJ was a pretty special human, a kind soul.

Sandra Dee was a famous blonde actress from the 50's and 60's. She was known for "good girl" roles. She was married to pop singer and actor Bobby Darrin. The song "Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee" is mocking Sandy's good girl image like Sandra Dee. You should watch some of her films, "If a Man Answers," 1962(co-starring her husband Bobby Darrin),"Imitation of Life" (1959), "That Funny Feeling," "Gidget," "Tammy and the Doctor," "A Summer Place."

Here's an interesting bit of trivia, the day that the bad Sandy scene was filmed was in the middle of summer in Los Angeles and the temperature was over 100 degrees. Olivia Newton John didn't drink anything the hole day because the zipper on those black leather pants was broken so she was literally sown into them. She was worried about having to use the restroom so she didn't drink anything.

Olivia was a country singer, grew up in Australia, born in the UK, her songs crossed over to pop. She thought she was too old for this movie, but John Travolta came in person to convince her. She was also in Xanadu. She had 4 fights with cancer, and raised a lot of money for a cancer hospital in aussie, and one in California.

Rizzo is played by Stockard Channing, who most people know for playing the First Lady on The West Wing. Olivia Newton-John was mostly a pop singer. She made another musical besides this, Xanadu, and a few rom-coms. Great reaction! And yes, Olivia Newton John was iconic in this movie. I own this movie and a few other great musicals---Annie (the original 1992 version) and The Sound of Music with Julie Andrews, both of which I think you might enjoy. The scene where Sandy and Danny drive off into the sunset as the car raises into the clouds, and she looks over her shoulder and waves goodbye 👋🏽 man that hit so different when I watched it after hearing of her passing. It still low-key makes me weepy---but in a "I'm so glad I was able to enjoy you and your wonderful gift of music while you were here" kind of way. Rest in peace to a beautiful woman with a beautiful voice.🙏🏽💕

Some of the greatest classic Broadway musicals that might be of interest to a young person today because they all focus on various socio-cultural groups, tensions and strife between groups, their struggles and challenges. These are also some of the most beautifully scripted, composed and choreographed musicals ever to be adapted to film, IMHO, and all with stellar casts: West Side Story (1961), My Fair Lady (1964), Fiddler on the Roof (1971), Porgy and Bess (1959), The King and I (1956), Hair (1979) and South Pacific (1958). I think you would get a lot of views on all of these.

One of my all time favorite musicals is Bye Bye Birdie. The story was inspired by Elvis Presley being drafted into the United States Army in 1957. The film was Van Dyke's feature film debut and helped make Ann-Margret a superstar during the mid-1960s.

Fun fact in the broadway musical Rizzo isn't making fun of sandy during look at me am Sandra dee she was pointing out the irony about people who are seen as a pure and innocent but are still over s*xualized and how Sanda dee (whos a real actress) was only putting on an act. Sandy assumes that Rizzo is talking about her. Also, the song "You're the one that I want " is meant to be an agreement between the two to have Danny respect sandy. She didn't change herself for Danny. She dressed that was to get his attention to be like, "Look at what you're missing out on." I love this movie

I used to watch this movie with my mum everytime they showed up on tv and it's still my favourite memory together. Also, I think you should react to Dirty Dancing and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Both of them are like a peak in the musical movies history 👌🏻

I was 9 years old when i saw grease when it originally came out in the movie theaters in 1978. Saw it with my then best friend, a fellow fanatic about the movies. We talked, read, ate, drank, and slept the movies. And we went to the movies together once a week for a lot of years from the 1970s-1980s. There was no particular reason we went to see Grease. We tried to see all the new movies coming out as much as we could regardless of the genre (he loved horror movies, i preferred comedies), plot, critics reviews, or who starred in it. And Grease just happened to be one of the new movies that just came out. I dont exactly recall my friends reaction (except that he was very much amused by the Greased Lightning number), but i loved it right from the very first viewing. It quickly became my number one favorite movie. The fact that actors in their 20s-30s were portraying teenaged high school seniors didnt faze me in the least. Because to my 9 year old eyes, in real life, teenaged high school seniors were grown up people. Practically adults. So, seeing adults in their 20s-30s portray teens in the movie, i really couldnt tell the difference at the time. You wouldn’t think that a movie such as Grease would appeal to a 9 year old boy, but it did. Being raised in an abusive, dysfunctional household, it managed to hit me in the very right places at the very right time. So, I say to the actors and the behind the camera crew of Grease, from the bottom of the heart of an abused boy, thank you all very, very much.

Theory is that Sandy died at the beginning of the movie on the beach. The whole rest of the movie was Danny's dream. Hence the corny flying car at the end. HMMMM

Grease is one of my top 5 favorite movies for sure, it’s absolutely iconic and so, so nostalgic to me 🥰 Rest in peace, miss Olivia ❤️ I hope you react to Grease 2, as well. it’s not very highly praised lol and it’s not a sequel by any means, it’s an entirely different cast, and it’s not nearly as good, but it’s almost a “so bad, it’s good/fun” type of movie.

Olivia Newton-John was a HUGE singer. She was born in England, raised in Australia and originally came to the US & had hit songs on the Billboard Country Singles chart. Her "first" huge hit was "I Honestly Love You" that hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart in 1974. There was a huge age difference in this movie as she was 30 years old (playing a high school senior) when this was released & became life-long friends with John Travolta (they would do another movie together in 1983 called "Two Of A Kind"). "Hopelessly Devoted To You" was specifically written for her to sing in this movie (it hit #3 on the Hot 100 Chart). "Summer Nights" peaked at #5 & "You're The One I Want" went to #1. Olivia had the biggest song of the entire decade for the 1980s, when the biggest hit of her career, "Physical" went to #1 and stayed there for 10 consecutive weeks at the end of 1981 to the beginning of 1982. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and originally defeated it with her going into remission but sadly it came back and it was what eventually took her life in 2022 just about a month and half shy of her 74th birthday.
