Thanks for the tip. I believe for 2WD vehicles (ex: Toyota 4Runner 2wd) you only have 2 grease points. Just the front and rear u-joints.

I could be wrong but I thought 2WD Toyotas didn’t have any greaseable joints.

@@eriksadventurelab I was really speaking of the RWD 4Runner, not FWD Toyotas. On the RWD 4Runner, just two greaseable U-joints. No slip joints. I just greased mine not too long ago.

For some reason I can get my grease gun coupler to fit all the zerks on my 01 Sequoia except the front 4x4 shaft U-joint. It’s recessed in a tight space and my coupler won’t click on.

@@ryanb5189 I had to move my GX a bit to get the grease fittings in a position where I can get the grease gun on. You might have to get the 90 deg angled one for some of those really tight spots.

Hi Erik, on the slip joint where does the old grease go when pumping a new grease. On the cross joint you can see that the old grease comes out from sides of the cap were needle bearing are, where as the slip joint just move when pumping a new grease.

You won’t see grease come out of the slip joint since there’s a seal. It’s important to not put too much grease in the slip joint.

@@james_the_darklord there’s no set amount. It’ll depend how long it’s been since your last service. If you put too much it will just come out once the drive shaft moves.

@@sf6425 it’ll just throw grease if you put too much when you start driving. I pump grease in until it moves about 1/4” and if you do it every 5k miles (when I do oil changes) it takes between 5-8 pumps

if gx470 ,use the one valvoline moly. a lot toyota mechanic said just use that
