Yes all the time. Some of my frames don't use nosepads. I think my brow is just more pronounced. Another reason I wear contacts most of the time.

Ooph! Some people do have just an anatomically more pronounced brow. It definitely complicates keeping glasses clean!

I wear plastic glasses but my skin doesn't contact the lenses and I sometimes get it like 1/4 down from the top of the frame. It is also near the nosepad of my glasses and I KNOW there's no skin touching there. That would be impossible.

Most likely near the pad area is just hitting it with your fingers without realizing it or oil buildup (think salt creep from saltwater but with the oils our skin naturally produces, us really oily folk can have some really wierd issues like this m, myself included)

Thank you, got my first pair of reading glasses this week and they get smears all over after a few minutes. The eyeglass place didn't measure my face, they just recommend what they thought suited my face shape. Also must look over the frames to see distance and look down to read or draw (another bit of knowledge leaned after purchasing them).

That’s not a super great first experience 🥶. The measuring, yeah not much to be done there except for the actual lens measurements since frame sizing is all over the place, best to eyeball it and find styles that work first then work backwards :). The “how they work” should’ve been gone over for sure though. Ouch.

Anna Karin Karlsson Claw Voyage. They run just shy of $1500. Absolutely stunning frames for sure! Definitely a favorite in my collection 😎, and one of our more popular models from her! thatglassesguy.shop/products/the-claw-voyage?

But what to do for a specs having no nose pads. Really appreciate your effort and looking for a good reply

On plastic frames it’s a more extensive modification and you’ll need to find a shop that specializes in doing these bridge buildups in order to accomplish the same effect. Very few offer this service, however, an alternative would be to use “stick-on nose pads” that you can find on Amazon or anywhere online for a few bucks. They’ll have the same affect of bringing the pads out and closer together to both lift and push the frame away from your face :)

@@ThatGlassesGuy03 Thanks for the reply, really appreciate it. If I use nose pads,consider the worse case, could I remove that or its super sticky and doesnt come out. Also suggest a good one in online if possible.

@@sharavananp5570 I haven’t ordered the stick one in years as we offer proper bridge modifications here. Pretty much any should do however. They’re generally pretty darn sticky. Meant to stay but of course it’s a fancy sticker. They’ll eventually fall off and are relatively removable.

how do u assess if the nosepad from the frame are safe to be pulled? I'm afraid it might snap
@ThatGlassesGuy03
@ThatGlassesGuy03 Жыл бұрын
Tough to say. They absolutely can snap off, inspecting the solder joint/weld and knowing what to look for is the only way to be certain, but I’ve even on rare occasion had brand new ones that appeared fine snap. So it is always a possibility.

It would be nice if you actually showed which way you moved the nosepads

Away from the glasses, towards your face. Also need to keep in mind the rest of the adjustment of the pads, and I have the videos that better address the overall adjusting of them and shows it.
@MrBPM75

This would affect the progressive lenses will it not? Since progressive lenses are fitted based on the pupils point and all that angle and such.
@ThatGlassesGuy03
@ThatGlassesGuy03 Жыл бұрын
Correct, always have to be more careful and make more minor adjustments for progressive lenses. Often times this happens later when the pads have changed from the original location anyway, but it is something to keep in the back of your head :)

I was waiting for the tweak on acetate frame, and then it dropped, "we're not gonna do that today" 😞
@ThatGlassesGuy03
@ThatGlassesGuy03 2 жыл бұрын
Yeaaahhh, sadly that's some pretty major work, and not really a DIY for most, if you could even get your hands on everything needed. Some minor tweaks can be done to improve it some, but if an acetate is rubbing the brow it's not gonna move enough with what's there to work :(

Sorry- mine are covered all over the lens, and my iPad gets covered with a greasy film too. Why!? I don’t smoke, and I haven’t deep fried foods for years! Dang it I’m at wits end! Grrrrr 🤨🤪

Well now that’s a new one 😅. No adjustment is gonna do the job if even your iPad is! Wow
