Everything has closed to make room for new housing. I remember Frontier Village. Then Marine Africa USA moved to make room for Oracle. Circle Star Theatre, Castle golf and games/Malibu, Bay Meadows Horse track. The Problem is....soon there won't be anything to do for all these new residents. Just homes everywhere.

to build homes that many folks in the bay area cannot afford. Great America will be leaving in 11 years, the home developers better start getting the legal permit and building paper work done because it may take them 11 years to build unaffordable housing.

Plus why would someone want to build during a drought? They would take even MORE of the water supply. Hopefully housing won't go there. Maybe the new owner will change mind to keep park there....

as a teen in the 90's i would spend my weekends here in the day making new friends from all over the bay area and go raving at night in San Francisco the 90's were a blast for me in the baya area

Don't call six flags. If they bought the park, they would likely just shut down to erase competition. There's other major amusement park corporations out there however.

I think the greatest irony about this amusement park is that its called Great America. Back in the 90s, there were race wars in that park. I remember white kids yelling racial slurs at Hispanics and Asians. Black kids getting into verbal arguments against white kids involving race. I had many uncomfortable experiences with racism there as a minority back then.

Hey we just solved the low income housing problems in the bay area. Tiny homes (containers) three high and the entire property covered in solar panels. And a great place for a desalination plant.

Why doesn’t AMC go ahead and sell their property as well? Heck get rid of Dave and Busters and Cinemark and Top Golf so more corporate offices and Amazon warehouses can be setup. Close Valley Fair Mall too
