The Great American Road Trip is an RV road trip across America, all the way from Miami to Chicago, and back.
We visit Rock City, in the outskirts of Chattanooga, Nashville, Mammoth Cave National Park, part of the Bourbon Trail, Louisville, Indianapolis, the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart, the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, Chicago, St. Louis, Memphis, and the white sand beaches of the Emerald Coast on Florida's Panhandle.
We'll show you where to spend the night for free, cheap boondocking in Chicago, and the most expensive ocean front campground we've ever been to. Living full time in an RV, our travel trailer, a motorhome or campervan is our dream.

Was 2016 really 8 years ago? I can’t believe it! A nearly four hour virtual journey that took three weeks of watching in small segments to finish. This was a delightful virtual road trip, and such a nice way to wind down all those busy work day hours, sitting back to relax, unwind and enjoy so many new-to-me locations, perspectives and relatable moments. Most everyone uses TV as an escape, but I think if there were ever to be such a thing as a mental first aid kit, your videos should be the first thing in that virtual box. This was fun!

I absolutely agree with some of the comments here: you may have (slightly) the good ol’ “cubanito” accent 😊 but it adds to the charm! And you seem very well versed and you’re eloquent and articulate in your narrating - and a quirky sense if humor! My “cubanito” husband and I, and my teenaged daughter, travel w/you nightly and your theme song becomes the Ear worm of the next day 😂! As Cubans living in the Chicago suburbs, we had few other Cuban families near us. A few other Cuban families started moving in in the late sixties, but we came to the US in 1956 and were established in Elmhurst, Illinois, by 1962. The only way for my mom and dad to talk and reminisce with friends and family from the old country was to take a trip to Miami. When my brothers and sister and I were growing up, we drove to Miami during the summers and often at Spring break as well, so that road between Chicago and Miami became very well known to us. This was in the days before expressways so we took US 41 all the way. It wound its way through tiny villages in Tennessee and Kentucky. We stopped in Cordele, Georgia every time for a meal at a favorite cafeteria. We kids counted Rock City signs on birdhouses and the sides of barns. Does anyone else recall those days? Back and forth between the two cities every chance we got. But my mom was scared of driving fast and wouldn’t let my dad go over 55 mph! So between the low speed and the old road, it took us 4 days to get to Tampa and another half day to Miami.

Robert, your video made me homesick for Kentucky. I was so grateful especially for Juan's tour through Louisville where I grew up a long time ago! The "Twig and Leaf" restaurant was just blocks from where our home was. Loved to see my stomping grounds including St. James, Cherokee Park, Bardstown Road, Churchill Downs. Ohio River views were exceptional! Seeing Mammoth Cave and backroads was wonderful like the road trip memories with my parents. So many people are living there life vicariously through your video's including myself and never miss one. In my case I have COPD and can not get around like I used to. I bought a trailer anyway. First 5-1/2 hour trip out to meet up with an old class mate my lap top fell off the table and broke in 1/2, my camp site got flooded out, the next day my lower jaw got infected, going home my check engine light comes on. I have no compression in one cylinder so I need new engine. I give up! God trying to tell me something. :)

I see I have a 720 comments before me. I don’t expect that mine will stand out, but you’re traveling shows are by far the best I’ve ever seen. I am not sure of just how many of your own shows I have watched, but I have watched a lot. Have you had training on how to put together a traveling roadshow? You do a marvelous job and you keep my interest. For some reason the coverage of the great arch in St. Louis stood out for me. To think that a native of Cuba is showing me our country! I really enjoy your videos, you show scenery, provide interesting narratives, a perfect blend of tourist info as well as what you are experiencing--your real time happenings outside your skin that gives your video a live-in-person atmosphere. A lot of car/bike travel videos are plastered with the poster's face in every frame--hardly any shots of the surrounding. Thank you! Most of the time I am of the impression that you are traveling alone then but then there is a hint that someone else, wife? is traveling with you too. I don't think Thousand Trails is a good option unless you are a fulltimer or camp a lot, or have several campgrounds real close to your home base. If you can take advantage of it it is a great deal. I had it for the first year and was only able to get 5 free nights, so not for me at the moment.

Did you know : 1.) Chicago has 35 ...yes 35 beaches. 2.) It is called the 'Second City' because it is the second version of it (Great Chicago Fire) 3.) The whole city was once raised 6 feet..block by block....which is why the river is so low. 4.) It is called the Windy City because of politics. Not because of weather. Now you can conclude that Chicago is Americas #1 city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just curious, why did you not go to Milwaukee and get some proper Chorizo? Beautiful City. alright Robert, I never watch a video longer than 30 minutes, most under 15. you my friend had me watching a 4 hour video without stopping or pausing and I enjoyed it all. Thanks Dave

My wife and I are watching your videos - enjoying them very much by the way - and we saw you gassing up at the gas station (8th street and LeJuene) around the corner from our house! How about that.
