Great Barrier Island is a hiking paradise. While most know the centrally located Aotea Track, few know of the southern tracks that offer a range of spectacular landscapes, superb views, and rich history, so follow Outdoorsman Dave to Ross Bay & Dolphin Bay.

Yes, actually all bays on Great Barrier are quite stunning. I think it’s probably the lack of people around that I just find so tranquil. By all means have a look at the other Great Barrier videos for more stunning landscapes

Interesting little adventure Dave. The Ross Bay track looks like it does just peter out where you got too. Interestingly, there is a house completely surrounded in bush just before you get there. I wonder if the power pole you saw was about where you could walk up to the house from the shore ? Also the other track you found while walking back up also looks like it leads directly to a private house. Maybe the dream was enough to stop your inquisitive mind from going to have a look and getting in trouble ?

I actually think I’ve walked to the Ross Bay lookout not Bay. but the Ross Bay track must go past that building and telegraph pole but probably somebody has removed the junction sign so people don’t take it. next time I’m back I will investigate

Once again thanks, aint never been to gb island, apparently it's a 2hr ferry ride (oneway) ... have a friend living there, but doubt that i will be able to visit her. Bush seems sparse, not a lot of ferns, a lot of what must be old, very tall manuka/kanuka? Are u using new GoPro gear? Be good if they came to the party considering yr endorsement of their new tech ... just saying

I don’t like lotto it’s hope deferred and I think it prevents people actually putting measures in place to become wealthy through investing rather than hoping on a win. I Mentioned you today on my video, I’ve just come out of the kaimai bush, have a guess where I went! yeah sorry buddy I don’t know if you would’ve been able to do this one, a bit gnarly.

Apparently you increase your chances if you actually buy a ticket. 🙃 I non repairably damaged my GoPro 7 on an adventure three weeks ago. I’ve upgraded to an 11, what are you currently running with gadget guy? Any recommendations on settings and such?

@@OutdoorsmanDave I am very much on auto, except for the white balance which I set to stop the colours changing and ISO max at 3200. The camera does everything else. Thats what I like about the camera. I can just press "film" and not worry too much. I cant think of anything else that I change. Easy!

@@OAPAdventures thanks oh wise one, what’s your setting on white balance then? Now to get a battery charger, spare batteries, foam windbreaker like yours and viewers. The algorithm hates my adventure videos
