Hey Shinta, I just sold off two air mattresses as I’m so happy with the exped you sold me that I don’t think I’ll go back to my old ones so I’m having a clean out. The thing is in 10 years time we will be wishing that we are the age we are now and that we did things that our body will allow us to do now so that’s what I’m doing pushing it.

What an epic hike, and still not finished. I noticed you were on Instagram so I've given you a follow from a couple of my accounts. My new computer arrived so I've managed to catch up on my own video editing so that's a plus. Downside, I recently found out that I'm down to 70% lung capacity which explains why I struggled so much on a 34k hike I did earlier this year. I don't see the specialist until Feb 20th. Hopefully the issue can be solved so that I can get back into it. Anyway, great video Dave, I'll look forward to watching part 2. Happy new year to you mate. All the best. 😃

Mate, here I am walking 30km a day through gnarly terrain, providing viewers with great educational Intel and you do a nice easy walk into a bbq table area, cookup a Trangia meal and your views go through the roof overnight (well done). I can’t get my head around the algorithm, what am I doing wrong? I actually cut out quite a bit of our conversation because you were really grumpy at that point (the rain,and camera malfunction, or me just poking the big bear) 😉 I’ve since got a foam windshield like yours for GoPro, did you have a Drone following you on some of your shots? I don’t think I’ll ever get a drone or a 360 but it does make things look a little more interesting, gadget guy.

@@OutdoorsmanDave Yes, the views on my cooking video were great first up. But after a couple of days it hit the wall. Nothing for the last 24 hours, so Im as confused as you are when it comes to YT. Not so grumpy, more just trying to give you some emotion for the vid. I did actually enjoyed myself on that trip! I found a drone on TradeMe for under $200 and thought, why not? In hindsight, thats probably all its worth, but it does grab the selfie shots OK. I like the 360 better, although its got to be 5 years old, so not so much new gadgets. What watch are you using Dave? Looks very similar to my Garmin Fenix, which is an awesome bit of kit! Mine seems to display and record in km and metres. Don't like yhe idea of cooking with Aluminium
@OutdoorsmanDave
@OutdoorsmanDave Ай бұрын
This is what I found…hope it helps Minimal absorption: The body only absorbs a very small amount of aluminum from food, usually less than 1%. No proven link to disease: Despite some studies attempting to connect aluminum to Alzheimer's disease, no convincing evidence supports this link. Acidic food concern: Cooking acidic foods like tomatoes or citrus in bare aluminum can lead to slightly increased aluminum transfer. Anodized aluminum: Modern aluminum cookware often has an anodized layer that reduces aluminum leaching significantly.

Trangia. My favorite cook system. I cant see how a hammock can be comfortable unless you stay on your back and dont turn over or move. Love the vids title.

Pete we need to do something together in 2025, maybe I should see if I can get another pole from Game Gear, you use my hammock and I’ll use your 2p tent, call video “House Swap” and you can see for yourself, what do you reckon?

Good to see you've finally got yourself a proper cook set. That poor old Trangia 27 certainly needs a clean. Dilute the meths by 10% with water and the soot will be gone.

Is that what it is, a 27, model, year, it has the hole for the gas? I said dilute by 5%, so do you dilute it in the bottle first & doesn’t it affect the flame heat? Do you do the same with your gin to make it go further too? 🙃

Im not sure of the age of your Trangia. Those holes etc have been around for 25 plus years. It looks like the 27. One of the pots will have the litres marked on it. If the pots are 1 litre, then definitely a 27. If they are 1.5 to 1.75 litre, then a 25. No issue with the heat being affected with a 10% dilution that I have noticed, as you'll see in my vids. I mix in the bottle, its easier. Dont go over 10%, that will make a difference to the flame. If you are a conservative, then 8 or 9% is fine, but that's too much like hard work for me to measure that out, so I pour by "best guess". No gin for me.
