Young Great Blue Herons go nuts when adult returns to their nest with a fish. The nest is in a heron colony in Moore's Swamp, Concord, MA It was filmed with a Canon EOS 7d Mk ii, and a 600MM Canon lens with 2X teleconverter.

I've seen that heron fishing in my koi pond! Nasty bird!

They can be hyper aggressive but for the most part avoid everything while they are out on 'search and destroy' missions for food. Their main function in life is to eat massive amounts of fish and just about anything else it can manage to swallow. Heron chicks usually come out in 4s, with a large #1, a smaller #2 and so on. #4 usually dies and is constantly attacked by the #2 chick, who assumes the role of nest assassin. Unlike raptors, the #1 chick doesn't appear to be hyper mean like #2 for some reason. Like the adult, they tend to look away when #2 is attacking #4 or #3.
