I’m all caught up in The Stormlight Archive, but I haven’t read Warbreaker yet. My younger daughter just read Scythe and the two books that follow it, and she loved them, so I’ll have to check them out. Rage of Dragons I’m going to read later this year, so I’m glad to hear the positives from you. On another note, I woke up this morning with more subscribers! Thank you so much!

Warbreaker is sort of a prequel to Stormlight Archive. Even though it takes place on a different planet, some people as well as a certain object from Warbreaker turn up in Stormlight. I highly recommend you read it.

Red Sister by Mark Lawrence (1st book in Book of the Ancestor trilogy with kick ass warrior nuns) has the coolest first line I've ever read. "It is important, when killing a nun, to ensure you bring an army of sufficient size. For Sister Thorn of Sweet Mercy convent, Lano Tacsis brought 200 men."

Basically, every Sanderson book I read grab me from the start. I am not a Stephen King fan... I tend to like more his adaptations that his books o_O... but the first sentence from "The Gunslinger" really got my attention. I gave up on the Dark Tower on Book 4 unfortunately. That said... I need to know what does that shirt say... "Kelsier &, Vin &, Sazed &, M..." is that for Marsh?... why Marsh and not Elend though... I need to know.... I NEED TO KNOW!!!

I just read and finished The Queen of Blood based on your non-spoiler review video. You did an excellent job setting up my expectations. I enjoyed reading it while agreeing that some areas and characters could have been a bit more fleshed out. I appreciated knowing that going in. The forest setting is what sold me, and the author did a fantastic job creating it! 💕

I actually quite enjoyed Rage of Dragons. But then maybe my tendency to hold grudges made me sympathise more with the main character :D The world in this novel was one of the most vivid I've experienced. Can't wait to get my hand on volume 2, which is quite telling, since usually a novel centred around a culture I'd rather nuke than save would turn me off :D
@agnesmetanomski67304 жыл бұрын
@@hhoi8225 The Omehi culture, of course. -- spoiler alert -- It really has pretty much every element I hate: a pretend-meritocracy that ranks people according to birth, and in which the upper class can go around mistreating and killing the lower class members with impunity. An arrogance regarding their own value compared to others. The opening scene, in the prologue, does not give too much information, but what is there makes me definitely think that the Omehi arrived on shore deciding they'd settle there, found there were already other tribes living there and didn't give a damn, leading to the beginning of the conflict. Also the way they feel entitled to enslave and mistreat a baby dragon, which is quite surely the reason they were banished from their land of origin in the first place. Overall, while I like individual characters or can at least empathise with them, I'd rather root for the "barbarians", because they seem to me to have the better cause. Especially after the way they were tricked with the pretend peace offer.
