Would love to have been there this year, so wanted a blue mug but have a few knee problems. I'd take your down jacket and pants, sleeping pad and bivvy bag, leave the rest at home. Your bike will be a big game changer this time round, body takes a battering on a gravel bike. Have a good one.

Great video thanks Rich, I haven’t got my down jacket packed at the moment but I am taking a merino cycling top which I can layer up with. Keeping an eye on the forecast though… see you at the start!

If we are looking high teens overnight then happy days but prefer to err on the side of caution. Fingers crossed this high pressure lasts. See ya there!

Love hills. Usually I go as far as a plaster and paper tissues. 😁

Nice setup! Although honestly I think a hardtail would have done the job as well and would save a little bit of weight

Got back from the GBE on Sunday evening - it was super comfy, and time-wise about the same - in fact quicker until I got lost going around in circles after dark in woods right near the end. It was great to have a huge cassette on the back and the added suspension. Your probably right about the hardtail and indeed many riders just went with a HT setup.
