Great buildings on Bill Kachel's HO Model Railroad!

A brief discussion with layout creator Bill Kachel about some of his many incredible scenes. It was an open house Bill was hosting so more discussion with him was not possible at that time. It is really fascinating to recognize the Emden City hall and the 16 or 17th century Stade citizen house among many others which blend in just fine into this US layout. Greetings from Hamburg 20 miles away from Stade.

The part of the layout that is most amazing to me is the miles and miles of electric and phone wires. Maybe one modeler in a million would have the patience to accomplish that.

The reason the European buildings look so much like buildings in New York, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, etc. is because the European immigrants brought their architectural styles with them when they settled here...

@2:43 I'd really love to know what his proprietary color is for his concrete pillars, it's beautiful and super realistic...I see some green in it, I would not have thought of that
