This beach... it is close to where I live, and I check it often. Usually theres nothing going on, just nice blue water and a big wave, but on this day, there was life. A tornado of birds and striped bass with a handful of anglers enjoying the show... well off to the left I spotted something better, just a couple pops from false albacore with no birds or anglers on them. I set up on the albies and as it turns out there was actually a good sized school that fed in range of the beach for only a half hour... after that, gone. Stripers however stuck around... and had some fun with them too. I did cast over the boaters line. Thats kind of a dick move but with miles of shoreline and only a few guys theres no reason to be getting that close. Anyway, it was a great day.
Used a 9' jiggingworld onyx surf rod all season for albies - www.tackleworld.com/products/...

Nice Chris!! Glad to see you slaying up in New England. Makes me miss my college years getting out of class and running down to hit the salt during the RI fall run. That boater must have been in a bad mood and tried to take it out on you. No class or boating etiquette. Your response was great 😂. Keep slaying 🤙🏻

Man..awesome time indeed!! I was in CT 2 weeks ago and it was absolutely bonkers!! Giant Bass and Blues blitzing for days. Caught my Pb Striper 19lbs and my Pb Bluefish 15lbs. We fished Big top water baits primarily. Was the best 4 days of fishing in my entire life 🔥

Great video man. I talked to you on the beach that day. I guess i got there after the albies but still loved seeing and catching all those bass in the wash. Nothing better than standing in the water with the waders and having bass swim around your feet. So much fun. It was a solid fall run day.

It's been an insane fall run here in CT too. September and the first half of October was bluefish bonanza. I hadn't seen such crazy blitzing and bird action since 2015 or earlier. The topwater bites were insane. I had blues and stripers busting right next to me and swimming right by me while wading. I've never caught so many 10+ pound gators. And I ended up catch a new PB 14 pound bluefish. Blues are still around, but stripers have begun to take over now that the water temperatures have gotten cooler. The stripers have been kinda tricky to catch and have been moving back and forth fast. There's been many days of blues and stripers busting no more than 6 feet from shore.

Yeah… boat fisherman are definitely rude to shore fisherman a lot. I’ve had that happen multiple times this year where a fish cut me off on a boat and did what he did here. Shore fisherman always stick up for each other, boat fisherman have the whole ocean, use it. I have yelled at boat fisherman before about cutting off blitzing fish from shore and have deliberately casted right near the boat to tell them to back off. Also, I always count 1 shore hardtails as 5 boat hardtails. Fyi, that was not a cheap shot by you but by the boaters.
@andreassimon3381
@andreassimon3381 Жыл бұрын
they are too stupid to cast,thats why they need boats next to the shore. We better help each other than trying to get other peoples fish.

Fun day! I fish RI a lot. I didn't get out as much as I would have but when I did I got a few slot stripers this fall on fly . The largest this year was 30+ inches. Last fall, the largest striper was 45in, on a fly.( Largest fish on a fly for me) great video not a lot of pressure, few people, and a beautiful day out. What it's all about . I was out the other night at my favorite spot. Many stripers and blues, and nothing big, just a fun quiet night. No matter what you do there will always be people who will act like a jackass then wonder why they never catch anything or are constantly getting yelled at. I have so many stories I could write a book.

If my shore cast can hit your boat, you’re in the wrong, especially if I was there first. Best way I’ve figured out to deal with this is just keep casting over their line on purpose until they leave. It’s actually pretty fun and entertaining.

One of the benefits of having a boat is "having the whole ocean" to explore. Great response. I've used it a time or three. Funny to see a low IQ guy who fished the beach his whole life, all of a sudden inherit money from a dead relative, buys a boat and then drives up to the beach he fished as a little guy. They think they're Johnny big nutz. They're always the guys with the lifted big-boy trucks in the parking lot. I chuckle to myself all the time thinking about it. You're never so important that you are justified in treating people poorly. Even if you're an idiot. Great day on the water. Tight lines all!
