Brent visits an original and historic farmhouse in South East Texas. An original timber frame building with and great 1915's addition highlights a great period home where little has changed. 1 inch thick window sash that were made on-site. Great early millwork all improve the magic.
This is a great house tour of an awesome historic house. We are about to start a lot of work here. Should be fun.

You mentioned the interesting wainscoting. My family has a 1905 farmhouse in southwest Virginia. The creativity in the finish carpentry is very intriguing, for instance in the main part of the house they used a shiplap siding as a baseboard. I think the people that built these homes did so on a budget and to the best of their ability with the materials they had. We adore our old farmhouse. They’re definitely worth saving

Yes, that's most rural finish carpentry. They couldn't get or make all the fancy pieces that create a proper/academic classical order, so they just used the closest match they had on hand.

I’m anxiously awaiting your video on insulation for this house. I’ve recently purchased a 1906 House in Virginia and am embarking on the first major renovation in this homes 120 year life.

Great house and will probably inspire lots of people who love the farmhouse aesthetic. Those 1950s cabinets are super cool though, I wouldn't blow them out.

Is there a video playlist of restoring this house... I can't find it... I would like to see that house preserved... I have an 1830s farmhouse in Tennessee with simular original features...
