I’ve searched around 3,700,000 pennies in the last 42 years. That 36D was in nice shape. I’m surprised you didn’t have that 55S out in the best finds of the hunt. It took me a long time to find one up here in the Northeast . I’ve been having a hard time getting any pennies at the banks lately.

Same. They all refuse to sell me boxes. Only thing I can get is two trays at a time.

Interesting. It only took me a few months to find a 55-S. I'm still missing a lot of other more common years, especially pre-1940. If you have Huntington Bank in your state, they've never refused me and will let you order boxes ahead of time. Wells Fargo won't give me more than 10 rolls at a time, as they say they need them for other clients and won't order them for me, either.

Nice finds Rob. In the last week I have found the 1999 wide am!, another 1998 wide am, and a 1972 ddo 101!, 3 W quarters , 1 silver Quarter, 1 silver dime and 2 war nickels. I don't do it by getting from the banks. I work as a clerk at a convience store and tell all my customers they can dump their change off to me and they're more than happy to. It's much easier to have the coins come to you.

Love your set up. Just getting into doing an American Lincoln Cent date mint run. It’s quite tricky though when you live in the Uk. Would love to be able to get a box or two of pennies like that would be hours of enjoyment going through them.

That 1955 S you found at beginning of video if you look closer it’s a DD mint mark with a smaller ‘s’ under Larger ‘S’!

I'm surprised that you didn't set aside the 2009's to show like you do with dime's & quarters. I saw at least 2 during the clips & one was in superb condition. Since all 2009's are lower mintage's, you should start including those in your wrap ups as well just as you do with the 59's. As usual, another great hunt!

Picked up a couple boxes today, nickels and pennies. Found a couple silver nickels and a 1970 Swiss 20 Rappen (2nd one this year). Just starting on the penny box, but already found a 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial (Formative Years) Satin finish - spotted it by the thicker edge that you usually see on proof coins and the like, lighter color and blemish-free field. Checked the weight - sure enough, 3.16g.

That 1945 Philly was a teaser, but all those dated 1943 had a large "3" like 1934(the only one of that decade) and all other decades beyond and the last date with a small "3" was 1939!

So you got 2 lbs 14 oz copper = about 1300 grams copper, out of 2500 * 3.1 = 7750 grams copper, if they were all copper in the original box. That's about 16.7% copper which is quite high. Ten years ago I was averaging only about 9% copper in hunted rolls .
