Hey Rob I live in Missouri and my local bank is only in our state it's called Peoples Savings bank in Hermann, MO and I just started collecting coins for about 4 or 5 months and I have got only 3 nickel boxes, and 4 penny boxes and I got to say they are the best boxes IN THE WORLD! I found these nickels a 1950-D, 1939-S, 1943-D, and a 1924 buffalo Nickel no mint mark then in my penny boxes I found a 1970-S small date, a fricken 1909 (no vdb/mint mark) , and a couple of teens and I have proof for everyone of them. If you every take a vacation around mid-Missouri stop at Peoples Savings Bank in Hermann, MO 65041

My son Samuel and I spent all day yesterday hunting pennies. My local bank had a school dump pennies from a coin drive. One 1907 Indian head, and a slick 1909 with no mint mark so far. I took them bulk so I have them in a 2-1/2 gallon pail, probably $20 or so left in the pail. So much fun!

Nice hunt, even if a bit slow. The 2010 Canadian 1 Cent - Steel was only issued in Royal Canadian Mint sets. I've heard tell of some collectors finding them coin roll hunting, but I haven't found one mysef (yet, that is!). But hey, you never know - you might well find one! Stranger things have happened coin roll hunting!! Thanks for sharing!

I sadly wasn't able to get some penny boxes this week but the two box nickel hunt I had was awesome with 10 buffalos, one was dated 1937 and two 1913 type one's, 2 silvers and 2 proofs with 49 total finds

Only 7 wheat cents in my last box, but oh, man, you should have seen all the BUs I found, full red with nice luster and not a spot on them. 3x 59-D, 60, 2x 61-D, 62, 2x 62-D, 64-D, 65, 3x 67, 68, 69, 2x 69-S, 71-D, 2x 71-S, 72, 73, 73-D - lots of upgrades for my album. Plus, a couple Canadian cents with George VI on them. Edit: I'm pretty sure the Canadian 2010 was only struck in steel for sets, which would make it a NIFC.

Hi Rob, often us coin roll hunters suspect a collection dump if there are many good finds in a roll or box. But have you ever had rolls or boxes of coins with a mix of older and newer environmentally damaged coins wich might have come from a metal detectorist?

It kinda depends on what banks you have locally. Some only accept rolled coins, but give you free wrappers. Other, like smaller credit unions, have coin counting machines fee-free for their clients.

They’re both hard up here in the Northeast. I’ve gotten a couple crappy 17D’s with poor mintmark but I never seen a 17S.
