About 4 months ago I heard a homeless man yelling and cursing God, without hesitation I stopped in the middle of traffic and began to pray for him telling him Jesus loves him and his life is about to change. He began crying uncontrollably and gave his life to Christ. Now he’s in rehab and doing very well 🙏🙏👏👏

The Lord woke me up at 4:30 a.m this morning. I began to pray. I stopped because I felt that wasn't why God woke me up. I said Lord is there something you want me to know. I have learned to sit quietly and wait for his response. As I am sitting, I heard, "worship" then He placed these lyrics in my mouth," the Great I Am". I looked up the song on you tube with the lyrics. I never heard this song before. I sang along because that's what God wanted me to do....worship him. I am so amazed! Later in the afternoon, I decided to see who wrote the song and when did it come out. I believe it came out in 2011. It's 2023! Never heard this song before! God is so, so, awesome. Praise God Almighty! This is now one of my favorite worship songs because the Lord picked it out for me. To the author of the song, it is anointed God even loves it😢🙏🏾🙌🏾

Hi, Audrey! I had a very similar experience about a month ago. I was having a mostly nonsensical dream, then suddenly a woman whom I have never met was beside me, singing a song I had never heard. I began singing with her, and it just happened to be The Great I Am. As we were singing this song, I felt the unmistakable, unequivocal love of God overwhelming me! I woke up singing this song! So I was at a worship night at college I was visiting and the band prayed for those who don’t believe. While they prayed I asked God for a sign because I have been feeling like He isn’t there and when I feel like that and while life is going pretty well I start to feel like I’m not a bad person because of how life is going. While I prayed I repented and asked for forgiveness from my sin. Even though I felt like he wasn’t there I never stopped worshipping and reading the Bible trying to stay faithful. After they finished praying they sang this song and after the first line I was crying! I cried for the whole song, literal tears were streaming down my face! He wants to be close to us and He is great, greater than any of us, and even though we are not worthy, He died on the cross for us!!!

I recently fell into Christ's arms 3 months ago. I've been a believer all my life. I'm still new to all this and learning more and more everyday about Yahweh and the son of god! I'm 24, I've lied and hid things and had multiple affairs on my wife throughout our relationship and marriage. I understand that god was never our focal point and I have failed my marriage miserable. I'm on the verge of losing my wife. She has filed for divorce and our mediation is may 19, 2017. I'm asking god to save our marriage, no begging him, just like He has saved me nearly 3 months ago. My wife has lost all hope. I have my hope, my faith and I love Christ Jesus and His Father. I surrender to Him completely and I just ask everyone to pray for us and especially her because her heart is not in the right place with god. My heart is slowly but quickly getting there with Him. He is my rock, my shelter, my healer, me comforter and because of him and his greatness I will not be shaken by what the devil is doing.

This song is obviously an old song. The Lord just kept putting some of the words in the song into my spirit. Decided to look it up using the words God was dropping on my head. This song came up. "The Grest I Am." That is who God is, 'The Great I Am." The God who makes dry bones live again. The God who makes darkness flee. There is none beside Him!! Great song!!

Desperation band launched at a Kairos time when the art of authenticity had been lost and loving Jesus was subtly replaced by seminars and Ted like motivational talks to make everybody feel better about themselves. desperation band came along and was the cure for the chronic boredom and status quo that had enveloped corporate worship. I have the utmost respect for these guys and to this day their songs still move my heart to want to get even closer to Jesus.
