Great Loop #27 St Joseph, MI

In Episode #27, we leave Grand Haven after waiting for a weather window and attempt to go all the way to St. Joseph's. It was a long journey with some unsettling swell, but we successfully made it!

Grew up in St Joe.❤️ Michigan's west coast is one of the Worlds best kept secrets The Sunsets and fishing can be unreal. And because of its physical geograpphy, the beaches are wider, the dunes bigger the waves bigger, and the water warmer than most of Great Lakes areas👌 Thank for you sharing your travels. fyi - that was actually a very calm day on the biggest lake on Earth. Lake Michigan and Lake Huron are hydrologically one lake and therefore larger than Lake Superior👌

Great pizza Have a sister in Bridgeman Michigan and we eat pizza there quite often have sailed from Chicago to Saint Joe Benton Harbor several times enjoy the day great place

Another great video....thanks for sharing! Our Mainship was damaged during Hurricane Ian in Florida so will need the hull repaired and repainted. Do you know if the color of our blue hulls is Flag Blue ? Will likely have the boat yard use Awlgrip. Thanks again.

Almost seasick, just kidding. Was a ride to be remembered but you didi the right think by taking a break in the middle. Had a good friend from Benton Harbor and always talked bout the sandy beaches up there. Must see to believe. Time to get land legs back and get ready for the next leg.

Thanks for your comment Buck. Wave action doesn’t really show well on camera. That day we had swell from 2 directions and it was difficult standing or walking around in the boat. I ended up filming the first part mostly sitting.🙃

Loving the vids.. keep em coming. Question: (sorry if already mentioned in comments, or other videos) I noticed a reconfiguration of the burgee flags, as you now have the Stars and Stripes flying directly over the Loop flag. Previously they were beside each other at the same height. Is there some etiquette or protocol that you are now adhering to, or some other reason?

Thanks for your question Nick! You are very observant! We initially had the burgee lower and when we mounted the USA flag we put them side by side. Then we lost the AGLCA burgee in Muskegon one very windy day!😳 It’s a very heavy flag so put it back on the metal post. So no unusual etiquette, just logistics!
