I just started watching your great loop videos. Always been a dream of mine. I'm from South West Michigan, spent some time in saugatuck, and salmon fishing the Kalamazoo River. You were in saugatuck in the last video I watched. Just an FYI we pronounce Peoria Pee-or-ee-uh , at least where I live.

The West Coast of Michigan is absolutely beautiful. I grew up on the other side of Michigan. I’m working on pronouncing locations correctly. Thanks for watching

It was fun seeing you guys at the Piasa bird in Grafton, looking forward to the next video. This video has you going right past our house before you locked through in Marseilles. Happy Journey and hope to run into you both again sometime.

That’s so cool we cruised by your house. The river is gorgeous.

Awesome trip. I often fish the lake front and the calumet river. You may have missed the 95th street bridge. It was as featured in the film Blues Brothers when they jumped over the river, and is home to calumet fisheries. There is also the J O’Brian lock and dam. I’m sure you were too busy to film that. Spent many hours of my life waiting on that lock to open. Safe travels

Thanks for watching. I have a video of us going under the 95th street bridge. I didn’t know it was famous. Had to go back and watch a video clip of the Blues Brothers jumping the bridge. I recorded leaving the Thomas J O’Brien Lock. They have bee hives sitting on the west side I thought was so neat. Thankfully we were able to cruise into the lock without a wait. We really enjoyed the Calumet River. So many bridges.

No S sound in Illinois. It sounds like El-in-noi.

C’mon, now! Pre-roria, Illinoiz?? Are we enjoying cocktails up on the bridge? 🤣 Calumet River is easy….just like it looks…Cal-u-met! Same with Peoria…pee-or-ia. Enjoyed your video & your accent!

Thanks. I have difficulty with articulation of sounds and hearing the difference sounds in speech. I tend to add “s” to everything. Thank you for watching

Good video, but a heads-up, you don't pronounce the "s" in Illinois
@UnderwayDriftingNDreaming28 күн бұрын
Thanks. I’ll try my best for Friday’s video. I tend to put an a “s” on everything. I heard myself say Walmarts.

I practice a lot. Speech therapist gave up on me in fifth grade. That was a long time ago.

It doesn’t matter! Depends on where you’re from. Some people say tomato, others say ‘toe-mott-oh’. We say ‘park the car’, but in Maine they say it more like ‘pack the ca’. God bless you for giving us this nice travelogue. I’ve always been fascinated with American canals and rivers. Keep on telling your story and don’t be intimidated by pedantic know-it-alls. The S is silent in Illinois. It is grating hear as a native of state!!!!
@UnderwayDriftingNDreamingКүн бұрын
I do apologize. I grew up in Michigan and I always pronounce the state with a “S”. I have learned now because many loyal Illinois watchers have told me. Thank you for watching.
@ThePierce5144Күн бұрын
@ thanks for that and accepted. I have known several people from Michigan and never hear anyone else pronounce with the s. But I think you heard this from more than me. We Illini are a loyal. Thank you for videos and safe travel

We would have loved to go through Chicago. Just 6 inches too tall. One day I’d like to go on the architecture tour of downtown. Thanks for watching

Illinois clearly ends with an 's' that is, however, not meant to be pronounced. You can tell someone is from Chicago when they point out that the ``S'' is silent. I pronounce it correctly in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6SppXmBesZoeNEsi=Y4q61-M-dBzd9hpE

Should have gone down the Chicago river instead of the Calumet,much better scenery and the chance of getting shot isn’t THAT much higher.
