Got a soft spot Sheff Wed ever since the gloomy days of League 1. There fans always turned up in numbers and sang there hearts out. Poor performance for the traveling fans but I'm sure they'll have a successful season. Best of luck SWFC from a random Sunderland fan.

Shed Wed are a club & set of fans Sunderland supporters have no animosity towards whatsoever. In fact a lot of Sunderland fans have a soft spot for Shef Wed & love a visit to Hillsborough. Shef Wed are a proper club with proper fans.

Excellent result for SAFC. Good for our goal difference too! Shef Wed are a good team with excellent fans. I am sure they will do well this season. We had one of those days where everything went well for us. Once (if) we sign an out and out striker we should be right in with a chance. Hats off to Sheffield Wednesday fans you support your club well and sing well too!

Wednesday got everything wrong today... schoolboy defending for Sunderland's first 3, and losing challenges individually to a man and overrun in midfield by having only 2 CMs... shocking performance, but team will shrug it off and Röhl will get them sorted. One of those days everything goes against you too with disallowed goal that could've been an opening back into the game... Onwards and upwards, Wednesday!
