Glad to here that a Gen Z likes older music. I'm 70 & enjoy many eras of music except todays angry music. I prefer feel good music.

I probably have an old soul. I have always liked old music like the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s.

The only old song I like is “somewhere over the rainbow” from the wizard of Oz. I’m not saying the others are bad, I like them, but they’re just not my type.

These are bangers, but it is definitely about having an ol' soul. Because (I assume, you older folk) don't and won't see many a "20 year old Gen Z" put this song on his playlist, be humble enough to say he's young, be proud enough to say what his (and my) folk have said (that someone has an old soul) and he perfectly embodies that very thing and you folk are gonna take every bit of that away from him and put it on the song alone? @georelbonai8244 you definitely have an old soul brother and you should not listen to folks who can't appreciate when someone young digs something that they dig. But since this song was put out before they were all born... If they listened to it the first time at 20 or younger then they would have been considered (in that day) an old soul. For those who listened to that track after 20... they're called hypocrites and can't say nuthin. In fact you would have an older soul than they by shear definition. Keep on keepin on, and keep checking out the massive amount of great music like this. Check out the Jive Bombers, Mahalia Jackson, Jackie Wilson, Ruth Brown, Big Mamma Thornton, Bull Moose Jackson, Louis Jordan, Louis Prima and Louis Armstrong.

I like the stuff with ribald lyrics. 'Big long sliding thing' ( trombone ) 'If I can't sell it, I'm sitting on it, cause I sure ain't giving it away ' ( easy chair ) ' I'm selling my pork chops, but I'm giving my gravy away'....... get the idea ? Best of all.... Harry Roy ' My girl's pussy' hilarious !

I think because most people at this point have seen world war 1 and then the great depression. Then a second world war eventually and even further costs for basic living so the music had to be uplifting and happy that's why I love old tunes simple and happy. no bad words either lol
@TommySawtooth Жыл бұрын
No percussion (no drums or metronome), that's why it feels so non-aggressive. Even modern day classical music features drums. That's why this feels so unique and alien in today's music... in case you were wondering.
