I live just a few miles down the North Wales coast from Llandudno. This type of venturing down into Town was never seen, until the Covid pandemic. With no-one on the streets during that period the Goats literally had the 'run of the town', & have remained bold ever since, (but mostly in the early morning) their natural home/habitat has been the Great Orme since a few of them were brought back here by the British Army after the 1st Afghan War. Queen Victoria herself, then decreed that they be hand picked as Mascot's for all the Welsh Regiments of the period, & this is still the case to this day.

Predators such as wild cat or wolves will drive them closer to human dwellings there is a growing population of wild cats which were released into the uk during the 60s or there about they have been quietly been on the increase an imbalance of predators
@GrahamDyson-h9z21 күн бұрын
@JuliaGilbert-e3q There are zero apex predators in Llandudno to my knowledge, & so the Goats are in no danger whatsoever in that respect.

@@BrockSamson-i1i I've only seen them fight with each other. They usually run from anything they find threatening. It's during rutting season the billy goats get brave. They sometime cause nasty injuries to each other. Up until 2021 I had no fear of them. Then during 2021 rutting season a group of billy goats had a nanny cornered who was exhausted and injured from being constantly chased around. I went over and tried to scare the billy goats away from her. Most of them ran from me, but one of them came towards me with his head lowered and started stamping his feet. I stamped my feet back at him and shouted at him to go making big arm gestures, and he eventually backed down. I was quite scared. I think if I'd tried to turn away he might have lunged at me and knocked me over. Those horns could do some damage and I wouldn't like to be stamped on by a goat.
