Great playing. Gina Bachauer is one of the best pianists of the 20th cent.

The greatest of all Greek pianists, and a very proud Greek at that. About her teacher Alfred Cortot she said "I am amazed at the effort and exercises Cortot has to put in order to overcome difficulties that come naturally to me" In fact Cortot a God of the piano had to work very hard at his technique, to achieve his unique results. I saw Gina Bachauer in Cyprus when she was 17, giving a recital on a upright piano. This great virtuoso left us very early!

Such a fine and lively concerto - and from the date of 1868! Still full of delight and surprises. It should amaze listeners for a while yet . . .
