Four stroke engines are my favorite but saito will always be the best. Love the sound and easy to start and there reliable engine's. I'm from Pennsylvania usa and as long as I live bulsa and glow engine's will not DIE. My next vacation I will have to come visit you guys so we can fly together. Salute glow engines quick. Thanks David. I really didnt want to crash this baby on the maiden. But I dont have any instructions for this baby so I set it by the feeling. And it went perfect. I did made the second flight right after the maiden without the camera. For the soul and on second rates. Even more beautiful and even more beautiful landing. Iam in love. Again ;) Oh yeah... This is just a beatiful plane. I love Pitts airplanes from my youth when my father had a Cessna 182 and taught me how to pretty much fly it myself around age 5-6. We often saw these Pitts at airshows we attended and something just caught my eye that has stayed with me for 55 years later. They are just SEXY!!!!

I built one in the 70's and they were "Steen" Skybolts back then. Mine had a OPS .60 in it and it screamed. I sold it to a Cafe in Tehachapi , Calif., they had many models on display there.

Oh yeah Don. I was very lucky to buy this baby and in such great condition. And this flight was just perfect. And can you believe that since then it wasnt in the air. It is still waiting for the second flight. I wanted to do it that day when we were filming Tiger Moth. SkyBolt was my first choice but I have discovered that the baterries are no good anymore. And they were new at this flight. I just forgot to take them out. I will put new one inside and fly this baby again. But it will have to wait until spring I think. I have just bought four nitro planes. Second hand but awesome birds. Awesome... We will show them in a few days... Thanks for stopping by and see you soon, Robert

I have one bird like this since 2003, with a SAITO100 GK 14x8 apc prop and I can takeoff and go vertical at top speed (sea lvl), I can't imagine what could she do with a 125 with almost the double of thrust OMG🤤! I hope you're guys still flying (and enjoying) this beauty!!! Cheers from Brazil.

Another great video guys. I know it's an older video pilot Robert didn't say AILERONS LOL. SKYBOLT WAS DESIGNED BY A SCHOOL TEACHER Who was best friends with the designer of the Pitts special. The Skybolt was a slightly smaller version of the pitts to make use of the limited horsepower (180) Lycoming engine!! Mr Pitts actually gave Mr Steen plans for the Pitts to modify!! Just a few fun facts I thought you might like to know
