Dr.Rob Tuluie worked on the Victory motorcycle project, owned by Polaris. He had an earlier Honda CR single powered racer that was super light and fine handling. I helped him out in the paddock on a few occasions with this Tul-da at Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota. His specialty was always suspension, he's an astrophysicist and has used those brains to good effect. I still have some notes he made in the margins of a newspaper for setting up my old cb550 café racer! I lost touch with him years ago when he went to Europe to work on the Renault formula1 race cars. As far as your question goes, he raced vintage bikes from way back and rode an old Norton Commando race bike on the street. I recall him resting it against the side of buildings since it didn't have a side stand! I'm pretty sure he was aware of the Konig, but I think he just knew of that powerful Polaris 2-stroke and wanted to build something fast. The transmission was a Ducati cassette type and the carbon fiber looked better from a distance. I've always loved the way the Tularis looks, I have a poster of it hanging in my garage. I like to compare the two machines myself, but never thought to ask Rob if he was inspired by the Konig. I hope this comment finds you well. Peace!
