When Jehovah’s Great Day finally ended and the worldwide destruction of the old system of things came to a halt, a loud thunderous cheer of relief could be heard among the great crowd earthwide. The sounds coming from heaven and the angelic announcement that came next was so overwhelming it left everyone in massive tears. No one will ever forget what was witnessed in the skies that day! Soon after, our Creator guided every step of our rebuilding efforts and we could feel his guidance during the long but exhilarating Great Reconstruction.
Despite the daunting tasks that lied ahead and the challenges that have required courage, every day has been better than any day we ever experienced in the Old World. Now many years have passed and tears of joy still stream down my cheeks as flashbacks begin to run through my head. I’ve witnessed cities transform from a smoky pile of debris to a verdant landscape.
Several large parks and colorful fields have been restored, which have been quickly claimed by the natural wildlife! The wonderful animals seemed as curious about the future as we were. Every now and then I wonder: “Why me? How did I survive?” All those crushing trials, week after week and the pressures of the old world were so difficult to bear. But Jehovah was always there. With more tears running down my face, I have come to deeply realize how much Jehovah loves me and His New World has become a powerful extension of His love for us.
I'm now 87 years old in the new system of things and the first resurrection is about to go underway. There are many more thrilling events ahead of us and memories that will be etched in our minds and hearts for all eternity but no matter what happens from now on, I will always remember: ‘For Jehovah I live and whatever he asks I will always do. It will be my way of saying every day: I love you’ HANG IN THERE, YOU WILL SURVIVE! (Psalm 37:10,11)
