Tom, thanks for this information; however, I highly recommend that KZbin promoters actually use the product for a few months before posting these videos. Reviews on Amazon, cite problems like the "system is very confusing on how to set up with the sim card", and that additional fees and subscription is required to access some features mentioned in this video. There were many other issues that convinced me that this camera isn't for me.

I usually DO use the product for at least a week or two just to make sure I understand how most of the features work. I didn't have a problem with the sim card at all, but maybe they changed something in the camera after I reviewed it because I do see that some people are confused by it. There was a recent software update that seemed to cause some issues. I'm guessing they'll reverse or change that in the next few months if it really caused that much trouble for people.

Dude, installing the sim card? May want to cover that as I've found it impossible.

Soo.. I'm a little bit confused. My sim card just slipped into the slot with no problem at all. It's under the little rubber protective door on the bottom of the lens ball.

@@tomshomefinds The SIM card and SD card are factory installed. I found out the hard way by following instructions in the manual and tried to install an SD card and when I pulled the metal card holder out of the camera both SD and SIM cards fell out. I'm just guessing on how they go back correctly. I suspect the camera will be returned.

It very well could be. I'm starting to notice more products on Amazon are essentially white label products sold under various brand names.

I'm in the process of returning the Boifun one I purchased, primarily because they tried to pay me for giving a positive review, which I think is pathetic and then pay me again to remove my 3 star review. I'm leaving reviews to help other customers, not to help them make money@@tomshomefinds

Looks identical to Netvue camera I purchased 1 year ago. Battery is dead and will not recharge via solar panel any more. Waste of money.

@@DeeDee-rr3sn Haven't decided yet. All reviews of these things gush over how great they are. For the most part, everything works "great" right out of the box. The shortcuts taken by the manufacturer aren"t realized until later. Probably will stick to the adage, "Buy once - cry once" and go with a more expensive item.

The battery seems to last for days.. weeks, even, without any sort of real "sunny" day. We had 9 solid days of rain storms here back in the spring and it was fine. Even a cloudy/rainy day has some light. I suppose 6 months of near darkness in Alaska might cause problems... Maybe?
