One more light was written about a friend of the band who passed away. While on the One More Light tour Chester's close friend Chirs Cornell killed himself and the song was dedicated to him at least once. It was very rough to hear before what happened to Chester. Now it's a song that brings tears to my eyes. I also never got the hate for that album as it was easily my favorite since Minutes to Midnight
@nik0212982 жыл бұрын
The whole album is rough to hear in hindsight, they all sound very poppy but the lyrics are pretty deppressing. And then Chester, the band's singer, goes and kill himself with this as the last album he sang for Linkin Park.

On the money saying that Muse tried to appeal to older fans with Drones, they said before the album's release that it was a return to their "roots" and their more hard rock. Amazing video, loved the editing. If you’re planning on doing another one of these, I’d definitely suggest Train Food on Skins by XXXTENTACION. I don’t like X and Skins is definitely a worthless piece of shit overall, but the track Train Food is a very bizarre outlier in the track list. While the album feels horribly cobbled together and unfinished (as evident from X’s passing), Train Food is the only track that feels like a finished product and doesn’t really belong on the album. It’s a very brief weirdly Experimental and Conscious Hip Hop song with a very progressive and nonconventional structure. His delivery is competent, lyrics keep you invested, there’s almost an Eminem Stan quality to it. It’s a very weird song that points to an untapped potential of X.

Alright so I'm going to quickly expand on someone else's comment here: Yes, "One More Light" was dedicated to Chris Cornell after he took his own life, and Chester actually ended up adding a scream that wasn't in the original during that performance. The song is about losing a friend, so Chester ended up singing it in memory of Chris, shortly before taking his own life. R.I.P to both Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell.

The Kill the DJ riff sounds like they just took "Magic Man" by Heart and then shifted it up and down to make a song, but also..they're not Heart, they're just Green Day.

Bow + arrows is great! The Rat is prob the best song on there but the walkmen are my all-time heartbreak band

One of the first songs comes to my mind is Drop the World from Lil Wayne's Rebirth. That song fucking rocks.

I really digged the concept of the video, pretty fun to watch overall, only thing that stroked the wrong cord for me was the use of Good news by mac miller for the linkin park intro? I don't think their cases are that similar, or that it's entertaining to compare them.

The Rat by The Walkmen is unironically one of the best tracks I have heard in a long fucking time. It's not my style at all but I absolutely love it. What a gem!
