One more light was written about a friend of the band who passed away. While on the One More Light tour Chester's close friend Chirs Cornell killed himself and the song was dedicated to him at least once. It was very rough to hear before what happened to Chester. Now it's a song that brings tears to my eyes. I also never got the hate for that album as it was easily my favorite since Minutes to Midnight
@nik021298
@nik021298 2 жыл бұрын
The whole album is rough to hear in hindsight, they all sound very poppy but the lyrics are pretty deppressing. And then Chester, the band's singer, goes and kill himself with this as the last album he sang for Linkin Park.

One More Light is the epitome of this. For such a lacklustre album, the title track is one of the most depressing songs ever written. In a good way of course. It’s emotional in a way that’s clearly more raw and sincere than tracks off of early LP albums.

Coloratura on the new Coldplay album has to be a great example of this. I don't actually think all the other songs on Music of the Spheres are that bad -- I enjoy Higher Power and Humankind, for example -- but Coloratura blows everything else on that album out of the water and, in my view, is easily the best thing they've ever done. Such a beautiful melody and chord progression and a magnificent song.

On the money saying that Muse tried to appeal to older fans with Drones, they said before the album's release that it was a return to their "roots" and their more hard rock. Even the song The Globalist was described to as a sequel to one of their fan-favorite deep cuts Citizen Erased. Personally the album doesn't deliver on that old Muse feeling too well to me, but I don't dislike Muse's new albums and I enjoy all of their music.

Thanks for featuring me in your video Brad! Great video, but I think you should've given the other albums on trilogy a listen too, they have better tracks than sweet 16 (like Stray Heart and Brutal love).

The irony of saying reapers is a throw back to early Muse right after saying how bland Psycho is when the riff Psycho is built from is something they've been playing since like 2003. Also The Handler is on that album, that commenter was clearly a little bit lost.

Deutchland on rammstein's self titled album is another case of a song being so good that it ultimately pushes the other songs down. The album is not great by rammstein standards, but it isn't terrible, however there's a noticeable decline in each song after Deutchland.

Amazing video, loved the editing. If you’re planning on doing another one of these, I’d definitely suggest Train Food on Skins by XXXTENTACION. I don’t like X and Skins is definitely a worthless piece of shit overall, but the track Train Food is a very bizarre outlier in the track list. While the album feels horribly cobbled together and unfinished (as evident from X’s passing), Train Food is the only track that feels like a finished product and doesn’t really belong on the album. It’s a very brief weirdly Experimental and Conscious Hip Hop song with a very progressive and nonconventional structure. His delivery is competent, lyrics keep you invested, there’s almost an Eminem Stan quality to it. It’s a very weird song that points to an untapped potential of X.

@@someoneelse7971 Right!? When I first heard it I thought the screams and 'guitar' sucked and I mean...yeah they still do but holy shit does it hit. But knowing he's one of the few abusers to audibly admit his guilt hurt me to the point where I couldn't jam him anymore.

Alright so I'm going to quickly expand on someone else's comment here: Yes, "One More Light" was dedicated to Chris Cornell after he took his own life, and Chester actually ended up adding a scream that wasn't in the original during that performance. The song is about losing a friend, so Chester ended up singing it in memory of Chris, shortly before taking his own life. R.I.P to both Chester Bennington and Chris Cornell.

I really digged the concept of the video, pretty fun to watch overall, only thing that stroked the wrong cord for me was the use of Good news by mac miller for the linkin park intro? I don't think their cases are that similar, or that it's entertaining to compare them.
