Some individuals created this unstable economy by treating workers poorly. Now they complain because the same workers they burned out with stagnant wages and not enough time off cannot afford to sustain the economy. This sounds like Japan. It is time for employees in Canada to be more tactfully assertive about what is needed to be productive. What do the French or Germans who have more stable middle classes, more productive economies, and more affordable living costs do when their needs are at risk? They work together and even stand up if needed, they dont fall for the divide and conquer game some of these ultra-wealthy have done. We have a democracy, we have rights. People in more dictatorial nations risked death for democracy. We have no excuses for having no backbone, and it is in fact hurting our economy and society. We need a middle class with enough leisure time and money to sustain our economy by supporting communities, families, and businesses. The ultra-wealthy need workers to build their wealth for them. So let's make those among them who forgot the workers listen to us. It's time to abandon the US system and protect our middle class by giving them fair wages and time off so we can build a real economy with real world class companies like in France or Germany. They are major us trade partners and do okay treating workers decently. So there are no excuses for this abysmal treatment of employees that destroys productivity and life satisfaction.
