This used to be a lot faster but they slowed it down. You are sitting on magnets with a deadman lever. You pull back on the stick(lever) to release the magnets and when you let go they grip the stainless steel slide and slow you down. The click-clack noise is created by the strips they put in to slow it down. They slowed it down to lesson the risk of ramming slower people in front of you. It was designed to be much faster than the video shows. It's still fast, but before they slowed it down it would go as fast as you dared. Once the Grand Daddy of E-ticket rides in my book.

I rode it few years ago and it was great fun. If you don't apply the brakes at certain corners it does speed up. Just have to follow the sign instructions but if you want to go fast....it will go fast. It beats taking the cable car down.

ahhh huge miss out. i will say, have you read about gutter oil because i found out after MY 6 week trip to Tianjin and Beijing back in 05, and statistically i forget the exact number cuz I'm stoney baloney, but it was something like 25 minimum meals fried in sewage. i ate at least one meal a day from the street vendors. I rode the same type many times in New Hampshire years ago. Fiberglass tracks. My pal lost it once on a turn, crashed and slid down the track partly on his face. Forehead road rash is no joke. But we all laugh about it now when someone brings up that memorable day.😂
