Solzhenitsyn fought in the Second World War, was sent to the Gulag, and developed cancer, and still made it to 89 years old. What a survivor.

I had to read a 'day in the life' at school when I was 14... It was a complete waste of time, because it meant nothing to me, and the teacher had no idea how to make it meaningful. C'est la vie.

I was of similar age when I got the second volume into my hand and didn't want to stop reading. I found the first and third volume in our library soon after and read them all. Some memories from that reading have stayed with me for decades.

Very good to hear his voice and see him talk. Since 1970 I have read nearly everything he wrote, partly many times over. But all the time I find new stuff, because translations are lagging behind. Soon March and April 17 will be finally translated into English too.

My gosh I can relate to this guy in the way of how he talks about all of the research he did. I am constantly wanting to learn as much about everything from war to aircraft, hunting, fighter planes, animals, science, and history which brings me here. I have been studying Russia, and communism for months now after hearing a series of talks from Jordan Peterson. I am also Roman Catholic so I suppose it would be a good thing to research this farther in depth to help get a better picture of Fatima.

@@winniethuo9736 Jordan Peterson discusses Dostoevsky and Solzhenitsyn in his KZbin lectures. Your interests are wide : give your time to reading and study and the music of the greatest composers, take care not to fritter away your time in junk culture such as the new Netflix drama everyone is talking about. Abjure hard liquor, recreational drugs and tobacco. *Remember always the end and that time lost will not be returned to you.* Thomas a Kempis. J Peterson would agree.
