Cartoons, however funny, don't capture the true personality of this classic desert bird.

I lived in S Calif (Diamond Bar) next to a dry grassy hill( occasionally with coyotes, rabbits, skunks, possums) and I saw a road runner only once in the 12 years . It was near my residence and it had a blue green tint . It ran away like a speeding arrow darting around superspeed ( I was driving in my car). What a MAGNifcent animal. Made my day. Thanks for the documentary.

Here in Arkansas I I see roadrunners everyday pretty much in the summertime. I have a Yorkie that loves to chase them around the yard but I did not know that they will catch hummingbirds we may have a problem with that because I have hummingbird feeders and I love my hummingbirds!!

One thing I love about living in Arizona is that we have a chance to see these things. I can't really say exactly how rare it is because I don't always have a chance to get out to the areas where you are most likely to come across them... But in total, i've seen them in person about 5 times in my life (as recently as a few days ago) & for whatever reason everything stops when I come across one as they have my full undivided attention. They are just beautiful birds & they just captivate me for some reason (maybe because you don't see them everyday &/or you're instinctively waiting for a Coyote to jump out behind it lol)

We see them a lot in Texas, even in suburban areas. I'm fascinated by them. They aren't the most beautiful birds, but they're so unique. And they really do look and act like tiny, fleet-footed dinosaurs.

No wonder it’s “coo coo” in the cartoon, that’s the joke since it’s related to the coo coo birds... I guess.., but the fact that they visit bird feeders is the joke too since Will E. is “the bird feeder.” 😂

20mph, olympic runners manage about 16mph so... no you wouldn't come close to catching one by running at it.
