Very helpful, I'm a 40 yo male and Ive been struggling with this problem on my left side for a couple of weeks now. Severe pain, not remedied by anti inflammation medication. I'm usually tolerant of any pain but this has hit me for 6. Looks like I better get my medical insurance in order and go through physio for the next 6 months 😑

@@vivianeraw8448I was referred to a hip specialist who wanted to do further investigations as he thought it was my spine not just this Bursitis,(I had steroid injection back in December 2021 which did help with the hip for a few weeks.) after another MRI on my lower spine they found i have a herniated disc L5 pressing on my S1 nerve. This is what causing the chronic pain. Starting physio on 18th October for this. On new pain relief. In so much pain now it’s becoming unbearable. Long road ahead fingers crossed physio can sort this . Thank you for asking.

@@crichards3533 I've been dealing with this for two weeks. It's some of the worst pain in my life do you recommend the injections. My orthopedic doctor wants me to do injections. I'm currently doing physical therapy and taking celebrex and Vicodin. The therapy and meds do nothing to relieve the pain.

Poor form when deadlifting originally caused my problem. After 18 months without issues, I went back to regular stretching. Then... POW. Now I know what aggravates it.

Must you wait until the pain abates before starting to exercise or do the movements help the area to heal? Thanks!!
@michaell82 Жыл бұрын
Every injury is different. When I injured my left side light stretching and some bodyweight movements helped subside the pain and heal the injury. Now a year later my right side is injured. Any stretching or weight bearing at all makes it worse and seems to re-injure it making it longer to heal. So I am balancing rest and very light bodyweight movements which is helping a lot. Last thing, using a massage gun AROUND the area to promote blood flow helps tremendously. Do not directly massage the injury. Hope this helps!

Is it possible for an athlete to reach a high level in their sport with this problem even after they’ve healed or will it always be a problem once they get it?
@Physioplusfitness3 жыл бұрын
Like any injury you can bounce back and not have issues ever again or it could be something you struggle with, there is no black or white answer. The key is to do the rehab and then gradually return to sport, no reason that you couldn't reach a high level once pain free.

I had a total hip replacement at age 34 in 2006. I’ve limped with what my ortho tells me is this condition for the past 16 years. Nothing helps it. The pain is centered on my lower thigh as it approaches the knee. If the problem is the trochanter why is the pain so far down the leg?
@michaell82 Жыл бұрын
Hi. I’ve injured both sides now. Left is healed right hurts now. On both injuries the pain radiates down the IT bad and even the outside of my calf. Im not exactly sure why but it can happen.

My situation is progressive when I was extremely active in my weight loss journey I was starting to develop my now on going progressive issues with my joints as of now doctor says they're not significantly arthritic more muscular and I have put on about 15 pounds but I've been having these problems and flare-ups for years I got diagnosed with fibromyalgia recently and I am progressively getting worse I'm having problems with my right hip and I will grant it I do need to drop some pounds I am almost 47 but at the same time this situation has progressed to what it is it's very debilitating for me hopefully I will figure it out I do stay active but everything I do agitates my hip I also have flare ups in all my joints from time to time supposedly non-arthritic thank you for your video

Thanks for this video. I have been struggling with right hip pain. It all started when i got a new car (a beemer) which had very aggresive side bolsters. After a couple of weeks i felt significant pressure around the greater trochanter during driving. Depending on a day it would hurt while driving and after that it turned to symptoms similar to piriformis syndrome (without sciatic pain though). I sold that car and got better in the course of 4-months. However, i got occasional trochanter area pain now and then (always when using a seat with side bolsters). I finally got a brand bew car (less aggresive bolsters) and the issue is back :-(((( it only happens during/after driving. My fysio tells me to work my g. medius, but all of my symptoms suggest to me that i hot GT pain syndrome. My hypothesis is that the initial microtrauma(s) from the aggresive side bolster did not completely heal and now the issue got renewed. Does my hypothesis make sense? Thanks!
@Physioplusfitness3 жыл бұрын
Hi Michal, compression over the GT can definitely be linked to the problem so it sounds to me like your hypothesis was right. Strengthening and loading the glut med can be really useful in the these conditions though so maybe try this and see how you feel, good luck!

Yes, but you're young so ahouldnt be an issue unless your doing way way to much, Its when you get older you have to be more measured.
