The accidents I see at 3:25 are way too common for Vancouver. I'm not sure if traffic was backed-up in front of the Toyota Sienna, but DO NOT let drivers opposite enter the intersection especially when there is two lane traffic.

How could you possibly stop it? You can't "block the box" specifically so that you don't block other movements, like oncoming lefts. If a driver stops to let an oncoming driver go without there being traffic ahead, that's idiotic. But I don't think that's as common.

@@JakeRoot A simple solution would be for both parties to slow down and look before going. Every driver should know of potential hazards and think before they act and not assume the situation is safe before going.

It always amazes me people will gamble with their lives (or more specifically passenger/rear right passenger) turning left when you don't have visibility of oncoming traffic. Pure fucking stupidity to take that risk instead of waiting until you can see or for light to change. The worst are morons that try to make left turns at uncontrolled intersections across busy 3 lane streets during rush hour (South Granville, Main St from 1st to Broadway etc).

These people are without a conscience. When they get enough points, they lose their licence. City slickers, think charm will win, until they encounter road rage. Streetlaw vigilantes are most common among our local bicycling community. They show their true colours by their parade of lawlessness. Whether stop signs or helmets, our streetwise cyclists celebrate their lawlessness and wonder at the city they trash. A large laundromat materialized, compliments of international crime. They wanted to show their support for Metro Vancouver's lawless streets, communities and institutions. The Motor Vehicle Act of British Columbia's cobwebs need dusting off. Let's publish traffic compliance rates and embarrass these freewheeling, lawless, socially irresponsible, daredevils, now, eh!

Residents are immune to traffic laws. The last Mayor of Vancouver and the last Premier, both ignored red lights. The previous Premier before that, drove drunk. The residents and visitors are unwilling to accept their social responsibilities. Kids see most of the adults break traffic laws and understand the weakness of trust. They often want to commit suicide, because when they try to act as irresponsible as the adults, they are told to grow up. With so much illegal behaviour, a huge laundromat materialized and caused the affordability to end. Congratulations! Lawless streets, Lawless business .Lawless politicians. Lawless adults. The University of British Columbia, is immune to stop signs. So they had a rape chant to celebrate the laundromat, at their business school! Congratulations!

@ Actually, incorrect. I know because I live in the Lower Mainland. It's flashing the countdown, which means that lady has enough time to cross the road. The car that hit her was at fault, not her.

I read a comment in another one of these compilations that said Canada basically is split-fault insurance. So does that mean that even one of the many people who were hit by red light runners in this compilation were still considered to be 50% responsible for the crash or was somebody talking out of their ass?

That is not true. Every province has their own rules. In BC, we 9Still) do not have an at fault system. So, the insurance company will determine lianility based on the presented evidence. The insurance company is a government monopoly, so you have to take them to court quite often to dispute their rulings.

Drivers in Vancouver are the worst in Canada hands down and I’m sure could compete globally for the title. The police don’t seem to be actively looking for traffic violations except when they do their ‘distracted driving’ blitzes or the typical Oak St speed trap. It’s one thing to get a speeding infraction or red light infraction in the mail, it’s another level to be pulled over and ticketed. Worst drivers - Worst auto insurance.
