I always have to remind my deregulation-obsessed friends that safety regulations are written in blood. My mothers friend was complaining that kids have to be in car seats because "when you kids were little we just put you in the backseat on a pillow". A quick google search of child deaths in car crashes over the years ended the conversation quite quickly.

This. Unless the police declined to see the video, it's a slam dunk traffic control violation ticket for the Challenger at a minimum. Hopefully the cammer wasn't left holding the bag on the insurance liability front. Police fact finding isn't binding, and it's not as if any was done in this instance.

I've seen that clip before and the number of people claiming the cammer was in the right was depressing. It's not difficult to see that at the point where that on ramp becomes a single (admittedly very wide) lane the other car is ahead so the cammer _has_ to yield, but they don't so everything that happens after that is entirely on them.

Videos like these have made me a much more defensive and alert driver already avoiding a couple crashes by other drivers. Red means Green to irresponsible drivers who are deficient in morals, judgement, driving skills and insurance. They will lie on official reports if they stop at all. Defund police and soft on crime policies result in increases in irresponsible drivers and insurance rates. Always vote wisely.

Clip 17: Pretty sure the One Eyed Witness That Never Blinks would have easily shown that the other driver ran their RED light. Clip 48: Cops rarely know the laws they are supposed to be enforcing...ignore the cop and show the video to the judge in court as well as insurance companies. TOO many idiots on the street these days and y'all can call me racist if you want but most of my near accidents have been with immigrants who have no idea how to drive on our roads. I've seen to many of them blow through stop signs and yield signs that I've lost count. Had one Indian dude blow through his stop sign and almost hit a kid crossing the street just the other day. The kid literally had to dive out of the way and the driver kept going on like nothing happened. I decided to follow the car and when we got to a red light I pulled beside him and told him how he almost killed a kid and he just gave me a blank stare and said "sorry no understand english" then just drove off while the light was still red but thankfully there were no cars coming on the green light. Do they just hand out licenses to immigrants like its candy or something?

I don't know why the left-turn driver was sitting so far back if they actually intended to make the left. Regardless, they failed to yield. The other driver already broke the plane of the intersection on yellow and was legally fine (but just barely). Personally, I think both vehicles should have just waited for the next green.
