It takes a couple years for drivers to realize they can’t be the center of attention while in the booth. I grew up a huge Gordon fan and I couldn’t stand him his first year in the booth but he turned it around and realized he was a color commentator/analyst, and he embraced it well. Clint has done the same but with his explosive personality it took him a little longer.

Was my first time at ATL, Great experience Great Racing and WHAT A FINISH. I want to be a purist and not want to see talent over plate racing but man… Also very fun to see all of the Mexican fans so happy holding up flags and cheering.

Anyone else notice at the start of stage 3, Mike Joy said they would begin the restart listening to someone’s spotter(forget who), but Bowyer started yapping about Chase Elliot and there was noticeable silence from Harvick and Joy for a solid minute or 2😂

Boyer is becoming the Tony Romo of NASCAR broadcasting. Just shut the hell up my dude. And not even in the instance you brought up. I can think of several times where Mike or Kevin said something and Boyer just repeated them verbatim.

Daniel Suarez just became one of the few foreign born NASCAR drivers to win multiple races in the Cup Series as far as I know! As a big Ross Chastain and Trackhouse fan, this was a terrific end to a kinda down week last week (and great start to my vacation lol).

Having been there today it was a classic AMS race. What a race …huge crowd … was in the Petty section turn 4 …I think the only time we sat down was during cautions. Alotta first timers also that I noticed super into the race…asking questions and all getting involved. 10/10 for me Eric

Was in the same grandstand as you, and I agree that the excitement was through the ROOF. Only sat down during the cautions and in stage 2 when they were single file for like 15 laps. Amazing race, especially the view from turn 4

atlanta is my home track and i’ve gone with my family since i was a knee high to a grasshopper in the mid 2000s, at first and even now i have continued to miss the “old Atlanta”. regardless of being my home track it had so many features and characteristics that i loved. but honestly new atlanta i might just love even more. it perfectly bridges the gap between speedway racing and superspeedway racing. basically what nascar spent the back leg of the 2010s trying to accomplish except it’s actually good. i’ll always miss old atlanta and i’m sad that was the track that had to be sacrificed to get this, but on the other hand my 3-5th favorite track has now become 1 or 2

I knew the moment the checkered flag flew that you'd give it a 100%. And so would I! This has to be my favorite race in a LONG time. Even as a Larson/HMS fan, who... did not do so well tonight... They had been rallying most of the race, though. And the race itself was SPECTACULAR! The "Cars" 3-wide photo finish, the 4-wide racing at Atlanta of all places?! The Fox broadcast was really good too for the most part. I'm really loving Kevin, Mike, and Clint in the booth this year. Especially Clint and Keven! They have fantastic chemistry. Happy for Suarez, too! Way to go, amigo!

Before I watch your video. I was very skeptical on changing Atlanta to be more like a superspeedway. That race was fantastic. For the longest time the Darlington finish between Kurt Busch and Ricky Craven was one of the best finishes ever to watch. This race just blew it out of the door. Congrats to Suarez on the victory.

Only because NASCAR fans and especially SMI like to knee jerk react: REMINDER, this race....and this track were this great because its UNIQUE, one of a kind! If you start trying to covert every 1.5+ track to this hoping the product matches this....a. it likely won't. And b. It will water it down. This track is PERFECT, but there is a such thing as too much of a good thing. The 2 Atlanta races a season are enough like this. Please please keep it unique by leaving Atlanta special like this.

I've been saying for over 15 years that if they would change Atlanta into a "plate race" they would fill the seats again. I was right! Somebody finally listened to me!
