I listen to alot of Rx Muscle Dave Palumbo, Gregg Valentino, Lee Priest all those guys have always talked about Wayne with respect. All the crazy funny stories from those guys I've been wanting to hear from Wayne for awhile too. Hope he's on more channels and does more stuff like this. Damn I always thought Wayne Dimilia was the villian of bodybuilding according to shawn ray and some others, but after listening to this interview, Im beginning to change my mind, it really does make sense when people say, its two sides of the story, in this case i can honest to god say i may have misjudged, without knowing real facts. Wayne DeMilia sometimes has too much to say, but it's probably the most interesting bodybuilding interview on the Valuetainment channel so far. There has been a lot of talk about Joe and Ben Weider, but here we get a direct look into the engine room of the IFBB and although Patrick has to pull Wayne back on track several times, you can see that he is really listening. I hope some of the current people behind Mr. Olympia and other IFBB competitions will take note of this interview.

I was a vip ticket holder in 2003 my first Olympia. I called Wayne on his personal phone about buying a $650 ticket which was a lot of money for me for a bodybuilding ticket. He spent about an hour on the phone with me talking about that upcoming Olympia. I remember I was so surprised the head of the ifbb would spend that amount of time on the phone taking about buying that ticket. Was Wayne a true dedicated person to that job

mixalis DeMilia has said himself any of these Should have been given the nod over Yates or Coleman at one time or another later in their reign's, but DeMilia doesn't control the judges. And maybe one who for years wants bigger man, wins. Steve Wienburg, Now they been changing the tune e.g. rohden's win in 2018 How the judges gave the win to dorian again in 97, Nasser was the better guy that day. Kai should have won against heath once. Victor martinez should have won against jay. As reigning champion, favoritism existed more. Now the other categories exist, and bodybuilding is less popular, & arnold voiced bloated guts, they changed the "agenda" view, what they mark on.

Exactly why I watch Rx Muscle. Dave Palumbo, Lee Priest, Gregg Valentino & John Romano all are bodybuilding encyclopedias with story after story! Great info can learn from plus history of the sport & laugh ur ass off too! Heard many stories about Wayne all good never heard anything bad from anyone cept Shawn! No surprise lol. Oh & the funniest most entertaining guy in the industry JIMMY THE BULL!!!! I've laughed so hard was crying almost pissed my pants along with Dave Palumbo & rest of the guys on the show. At 13:33 Wayne describes Matarazzo's condition just before he calls the ambulance at the Doubletree in Columbus in '93 & I got chills-- he nearly died the year after Benaziza !! Diuretics, they kill...I used them '92 for prep for the Border States Classic, a national qualifier-- that year it was held at Copley Symphony Hall, Joe DeAngelis, NABBA Mr Universe competed in the contest...I competed at light heavyweight, I got cramps onstage....diuretics are no joke, they kill you suddenly with very little warning, they are not to be taken lightly....your electrolyte balance goes out of whack, and in no time, bam, you can be dead

Patrick have you considered interviewing Bill Pearl, 5 × Mr. Universe and TRUE ICON of the sport? He is 92 now, I believe, still trains at 4:00 am, six days a week, and lives here in Southern Oregon.He is thoroughly approachable, charismatic, and engaging. He has fantastic stories of the Golden Era and just a general wisdom that the fans would truly appreciate.

I don't think people buy muscle magazines anymore but I do remember the times when I would spend an hour or two just reading them at the 7-11 stores. I do believe bodybuilding started declining in popularity after Wayne left, I don't really know anyone who watches or keeps up with it anymore, it's lost it's pizazz.

Great interview. Fans of Bodybuilding can certainly appreciate the effort that Wayne put into creating Bodybuilding shows. Athleticon never happened, won't happen, and was most likely a promotional scam created by celebs looking for attention. The future of Bodybuilding remains unclear, because it generally promotes an unhealthy lifestyle on a Professional level. That has to change before it will be universally accepted.

plasma expanders is pretty much going to mean erythropoiten which is even more dangerous than diuretics and requires constant hydration by the minute by the clock in the doses done, so when Andreas or other guys takea diuretic on top of that its basically unintentional suicide because you need the hydration internally but your doing more than just pulling water from under the skin your pulling it from organs and the blood stream to the point you've got mud moving through veins and aspirin cant fix that. you need to dump potassium and iv saline water/sodium otherwise that potassium level will kill you. go on a plane 30,000feet and what happens? increased rbc. you cant do that if your on epo let alone a diuretic let alone rbc promoting anabolics. so thats what ultimately is the situation when it comes to ''plasma expanders'' its a way to promote vascularity and fullness without water retention. lets not forget Curtis Leffler died simply due to lack of proper execution not even the product itself and without aspiration you put oil in your bloodstream and thus cause embolisms. so back in the 80's and 70's like Wayne mentions you didnt have parabolan or iv lasix or loop diuretics or synthol all you had was esiclene and potassium sparing diuretics everything else was pretty simple and this is why 70's and 80's guys werent as dry or separated perhaps but were healthier rounder and held a bit more water.
