This took me to my teen years growing up in NYC though I was a Pacers fan 😂! This rivalry was like no other and is still my most memorable and impactful sports moments for me. Reggie Miller was absolutely magnificent. To watch this rivalry then watch the Knicks stink for 20+ years was tough for me as a Pacers fan to take because my memory of them are as the John Starks/Patrick Ewing led Knicks. It was bad even for me to see such a fall, which in turn let me know how much respect even I gained for the Knicks throughout the 90's rivalry. This video is a treasure and the 90's/early 2000's was the best version of NBA ball IMO of all time. Great video

Agreed and the game just got that much easier for Indy when Smits had it going. If those foot injuries didn't slow him down early (and if kept out of foul trouble lol) , he'd probably get a lot more respect from the average fan. But yeah Smits happens!

Great video. I remember the atmosphere in Market Square Arena being a whole different level of intensity whenever the Knicks came into town. I imagine it was the same in New York. And I'm talking regular season games. I can't imagine what the playoffs must have felt like. Right on too for giving the Davis duo their due. Hey, I'll tell you what its an interesting one. I wasnt happy with how the Pacers played that series. Probably the only postseason run where Reggie wasnt at his best. I might say the Knicks in 7 given how their playoff run was going. In any case, it was possibly the worst call I've ever seen. I personally found that flagrant foul on Reggie in '94 to be just as atrocious.
